Le Royal Wok — Restaurant in Dieppe

Evening sitting €21.95. We found the staff at the Asian Wok to be lovely and helpful, though a language barrier, on our part, presented a challenge later on when we began to ask what things were or help. We both felt the food was extremely disappointing, lacking key elements typically found in an Asian buffet

Unfortunately, the starter selection lacked soup options like chicken and sweetcorn or hot and sour.  The only rice dish contained pork lardons, and a vegetarian alternative was unavailable.  Pre-cooked vegetarian noodles were also absent, as were beansprouts.  Soy sauce, and other flavourful sauces such as 'black bean' & sweet & sour were also absent. The limited chili sauce and other sauces available were not palatable. After the initial rush, empty dishes were replenished slowly, if at all.  For example, the remaining chicken strips dried out, were left untouched as a result, and not replaced with fresh ones. The spring rolls were awful as were the chicken balls, both had some kind of blended filling, they tasted ghastly.  Amongst the worst was the raw meat that was sent back (see photo).  Most of the dishes were oversalted, from dislikeable to inedible. The salad section & the desserts were the only saving grace.  We felt really sorry for the late arrivals as there was nothing really left other than either empty pots or dry offerings.  I really cannot understand the good reviews for this place. Nous venons d’Allemagne et avons testé ce restaurant « all you can eat » à Dieppe – et honnêtement, nous avons été très agréablement surpris.

Pour un buffet à volonté, la qualité était excellente. D’habitude, on trouve toujours quelques plats moins bons dans ce genre d’endroit, mais ici tout était vraiment délicieux.

Le propriétaire nous a accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et d’humour dès notre arrivée – ça met directement à l’aise. Il nous a même dit en rigolant : « Si ça vous plaît, vous payez, sinon vous partez ! »

Après le repas, une fois l’addition réglée, il nous a même offert un verre – vraiment un beau geste qui montre l’attention portée aux clients.

Le personnel de service était également très sympathique et attentif.

Côté prix, c’est raisonnable : ni trop cher, ni vraiment bon marché – mais pour la qualité et le service, c’est tout à fait correct.

À noter aussi : le personnel parle bien anglais, ce qui, d’après notre expérience en France, n’est pas toujours évident.

Le seul petit point faible serait peut-être la localisation – un peu perdue dans une zone commerciale – mais franchement, ce n’est pas un gros problème.

Nous n’avons pas testé les toilettes, donc pas d’avis là-dessus.
