Le Double V restaurant — Restaurant in Dijon

A beautiful restaurant which welcomes dogs. We made the reservation because of the excellent google reviews and were really looking forward to our dinner. We ordered four different meals. The fish of the day was good and the risotto was okay, but not worth the excellent reviews this restaurant has. The duck on the menu was not further specified as “grilled”. The duck was ordered medium rare. It came black on the outside and more rare than medium rare on the inside. We have never given back a dish in a restaurant before but more than 3/4 of the duck tasted burned and was dry on both ends. We politely told the waitress about the situation and she politely excused herself and took the plate. So far so good. What followed was the unthinkable: She was sent back from the kitchen with the very same plate and - openly embarrassed - put the dish back on the table expressing that the kitchen told her to say the meat was good, prepared on the grill and that the taste of burn and everything else was normal. We then told her to please take away the plate because none of us would eat it anymore as we had already told them before. Another waitress was sent to us telling us - pretty rudely and angrily - that the food was perfectly fine, that the kitchen staff tried it and that they wouldn’t prepare another duck but we should choose a different dish. Obviously we gladly accepted the offer and thought - finally - the situation was resolved. I personally wasn’t able to enjoy my own fish of the day any longer because of the huge scene it caused that we sent back the one plate that was actually not edible. Stil, they actually took the escalation one step further and sent out the restaurant boss, a piece of duck in hand and mouth, chewing, telling us in French how well it tasted. We speak nearly no French but English, Spanish, German & Dutch, he only spoke French so a communication was impossible and he went away chewing on the duck he liked so much. All in all it was the worst dinner of my life. C'était une découverte pour moi. Je ne savais pas si on disait "double 5" ou "W". La réponse se trouve sur l'enseigne au dessus de la porte d'entrée. Moi, je me disais "double 5" pour fêter mes 65 ans, ca me rajeunira de dix ans. Le stationnement est aisé. Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement, comme si nous étions des habitués. Le cadre est agréable et l'espacement entre chaque table procure suffisamment d'intimité et de calme. J'ai apprécié la sympathie des serveuses et serveurs, ainsi que leur professionnalisme en toute décontraction. On se sent très à l'aise. Les plats qui nous ont été servis étaient très bien préparés et présentés. Le chef est venu se présenter en cours de repas avec la même sympathie et décontraction que les serveurs, plus une petite pointe d'humour. Le prix des vins est raisonnable on peut trouver un Bourgogne à 26€ (Monthelie)

Si je peux me permettre une critique nous avions pris un apéritif et les entrées sont arrivées un peu vite. Si vous n'êtes pas pressé spécifiez le. Les restaurateurs ne peuvent pas deviner si vous retournez ou pas au boulot après le déjeuner.
