O' Saveurs de Carine — Restaurant in District of Dax

We had selected this little restaurant for our lunch break on a trip taking us from the Spanish Basque Country to our next stop near Angouleme. It was easy access from the motorway and a simple lunch menu was the perfect formula. I already contacted the owner via Facebook and we were expected. The place is very welcoming and cosy, the staff was really friendly and we were given the choice for a table inside or in the rear garden. We chose the latter where some clients were already enjoying their lunch. We both selected the same starters, main course and dessert: Toast avocat et mangue / Fondant de porc à la bière / Ananas chantilly au rhum, le tout avec deux bières pressions. The place got relatively busy inside and outside, the garden terrasse is well protected against the breeze and the sun and felt really pleasant. The only drawback is that most of the terrasse surface is a little too inclined. They have a good selection of craft beers and good wines. Total cost of our meal was 44 euros. We certainly appreciated the friendliness of the team, the warm welcome and the freshness of the food. A recommendable address which we would not mind visiting again on a next trip sometime. Phenomenal meal. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and we were graciously accommodated. The pumpkin soup was garnished with a foie gras dosa. Wow. WOW!!!We had an exceptionally creative and memorable preparation of octopus with roasted potatoes and beets with carrots. I savored the pieces of lemon peel and garlic. Neighboring tables seemed to love the pavlova and the brownie with salted caramel. Great place to stop when driving to or from Spain. Venez passer un pure moment de décompression dans une ambiance idéale ! Plusieurs midi, nous sommes venus nous régaler de petits plats nourris de produits locaux, genre, local qui viens d’ici, juste à coté ! Alimentés par une cuisinière qui sais ce qu’elle fait : quantité, inspiration, simplicité, et tellement de bonheur dans ces assiettes ! Tout est idéal (à mon goût en tout cas ! Et probablement au vôtre ;) ) Assiettes servies comme à la maison, quand tu vas chez ces bonnes amies qui sont enchantées de te recevoir ! Ici on est décontracté et on mange vite…ou en prenant son temps : c’est toi qui mène la cadence ! Le sourire c’est offert dans l’addition : parce qu’en plus, le budget est maîtrisé !
