While visiting Saint-Tropez, we were seeking establishments with a pleasant atmosphere and decided upon La Sauvageonne. As no tables were available for the second service, we opted to dine during the first service with the intention of remaining for the remainder of the evening. Upon our arrival at the restaurant, the hostess proved rather unwelcoming, though we maintained our good spirits and proceeded to our table with a smile. The dinner unfolded as follows: being a party of two, we ordered a starter, main course, dessert, and a bottle of wine. The pace was quite frenetic, with an army of servers creating a rather oppressive atmosphere. One could sense their desire for expedience. A pianist performed several agreeable pieces. At 10 PM, clients began arriving, the pianist departed, and a DJ assumed his position as the music volume increased. It was precisely at this moment, having barely finished our dessert, that the waitress unceremoniously announced, âHowever, I shall require the table. Should you wish to continue your evening, you may do so at the bar!â before departing. Consequently, we felt unwelcome and lost any desire to remain. We settled a bill of âŹ285 (which is frankly expensive when considering solely what was presented on the plate, even by Saint-Tropez standards). No one escorted us out or enquired about our experience. The overall sentiment following such an encounter was truly disagreeable. In summary, I would strongly advise against the first service, as one is treated with utter disregard. Regarding the cuisine, the prices are clearly disproportionate to what is served. As I have observed in Google reviews spanning various periods, they will respond with âapologies and thank you for the feedback,â yet judging by how clients are treated, such feedback appears to hold little significance in their eyes, as nothing ever...
Read moreWe had high expectations based on the beautiful setting and the promising menu, but unfortunately, our dinner at La Sauvageonne was a major disappointment.
We paid âŹ300 for two adults and one child, and expected a high-quality, flavorful dining experience. While the menu looked delicious with Asian-inspired dishes, the execution fell flat. The flavors were far from authentic â instead, most dishes were drowned in heavy, greasy sauces.
We ordered: ⹠A shrimp salad ⹠A noodle dish with shrimp ⹠A shrimp curry that tasted and looked more like green pea purée, ⹠A side of Bimi and Edamame beans (simple but fine).
To top it all off, we were charged âŹ15 for valet parking â despite the fact that we parked the car ourselves. That felt not only unnecessary, but honestly a bit dishonest.
This place might look stunning from the outside, but sadly the substance doesnât match the style. We wonât...
