I was part of a large group of people and the chef had asked all of the guests to pre-order the food which is understandable based on the number of guests and busy time of the year.
The issue was that the choices were very limited (2 starters and 2 main course) and he initially did not accept swapping the menus. After negotiating he created a third option with a different price where the starter of one menu could be mixed with the main course of the other.
He called on the day to make sure that all of the guests had no changed their minds as he would not accept any last minute changes.
What he failed to mention was that he did not provide the main course which some of the guests had pre-ordered. No warning either on the night! The waiters had no idea of the initial menu so were not aware that the food they were bringing out was incorrect.
When we tried to discuss this with the chef/owner, he did not accept his mistake, tried to explain that we had no idea how restaurants work which is ironic as I work in the same sector and have been for the past 15 years. His attitude was arrogant, insulting and so typical of a chef who thinks he is better than everyone else.
We have been going to his restaurant for many years and we have generally been happy but on this occasion his attitude was completely wrong and this is not the first time I have been told this by other friends who have been to his restaurant.
The staff were very good but the attitude of the chef/owner is not worth the expensive menus he offers. the setting has a nice view but you are directly...

Then she herself asked “can I have a salad as a starter pls » and this was accepted !!!! She spent lunch passing me some food across the table…real shame as I had had many nice dinners here in the past and i had hoped that as a good and regular customer he would have accommodated a...
