Thirty years. That's how long it's been since I last had the pleasure of dining at Maurin des Maures during my student days. Returning now with my wife, I was filled with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation. I'm absolutely delighted to report that this restaurant has not only maintained its exceptional standards but seemingly elevated them. From the warm welcome to the attentive service, the entire experience was a delight. And the food? Simply superb. We arrived a little too late for the daily lunch menu (starter, entree and dessert) and were told that we can only order from the regular menu. The item we all picked out was not available (beef stew) so we decided on the cheeseburger with fries and salad. The beef patty was delicious but the burger was built wrong. All condiments were put on the bottom which made the bun really soggy. The fries and the side salad were good but the ketchup (bottle) was expired back in July. Other than that it was a decent lunch. 4 burgers with 2 glasses of wine and 2 Cokes came to 90 Euros, so not necessarily cheap but since there are not many options at the end of January, you have to take...

The staff here are lovely. But either we just had very bad luck or people who ate here before and gave this place a good review have never eaten anything but shoelaces and dirt. We ordered the terre/mer. This dish was 100% not freshly cooked, but heated up. Gambas were completely dried out, the 'meat' was grilled to a piece of charcoal. The Fries were super cheap deep frozen McDonald's Fries, and raw. And I swear to god, the side salad tasted like somebodies armpit.
