Le Puymule — Restaurant in Figeac

We have visited this lovely restaurant quite a few times and always enjoyed it. The menu choice is very good and the quality and presentation is excellent. The building itself is outstandingly pretty and much has been done to expand and improve both the interior and exterior seating areas. For these reasons, we have recently chosen to take guests here, firstly for our wedding anniversary, then today, just to take visiting family member, including 2 children aged 9 and 11. On both occasions, everyone enjoyed all of the courses chosen and all of the staff were friendly and polite. Overall our experience was very good, however it is clear that while the patron has a few more seasoned waiting staff, many are new to the trade and very inexperienced. We quickly noticed that none of the waiting staff, not even the more experience ladies, were really watching the 'room' and we could see people literally waving their arms in the air trying to get attention, while several waiting staff were standing in groups at the restaurant door as well as walking by the customers who were trying to gain their attention. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes after we had all finished our main courses, for the table to be cleared and desert menus offered. Meanwhile long queues of people waited to be seated. This is clearly a very popular restaurant that many people wish to dine at and I admit that I am no authority when it comes to managing a restaurant, but it is clear that the staff need to be trained to watch the room and react.. even just to notice and respond when customers are needing attention. Fortunately our guests young children were this evening good as gold and very patient and we were happy spending our time with them all while we waited. We really love this restaurant and want to return many times, but the patron needs to address this problem urgently, as it affected many of his customers this evening and it was the same in June when were there for our wedding anniversary. I want to stress the we enjoyed our food, the surroundings and the patron and staff were friendly and numerous. We visited the charming town of Saint-Céré in France and discovered a restaurant called Le Paymule, located beneath a stunning medieval building. Although most of the tables on the patio were occupied, the owner kindly seated us inside, where there was air conditioning, providing a welcome relief on a warm August evening with temperatures reaching 84°F.

We ordered two traditional dishes that were beautifully presented and delicious. To accompany our meal, we selected a Chenin Blanc white wine and finished with a dessert of rum and raisin ice cream made with local strawberries.

When we stood up to pay the bill, the process was very efficient. The total came to 54 euros, which we thought was quite reasonable. By the time we left this five-star restaurant, all the tables on the patio...

Le Puymule est un établissement bien soigné et très propre avec une grande terrasse pour manger dehors dans une rue tranquille. Le parasol géant (couvre presque toute la terasse) evite de manger en plein soleil et on ne doit pas naviger entre des dizaines de pieds de petits parasols. Pour moi, comme handicapé, c'est le bienvenu et très agréable. L'interieur c'est la même chose: bien soigné 🤗 La toilette (spacieuse) est très bien accessible pour des handicapés aussi, ce qui est super. Aucun problème pour entrer avec un fauteuil roulant. Il y a aussi une table bébé pour des parents avec leurs petits.

Le personnel est très gentil et professionel. Ils étaient là très vite pour m'aider à entrer et sortir si nécessair. Le service au table etait bien, gentil et rapide. Nous ne devions pas attendre long pour les repas. Ainsi la cuisine me semble bien organisé.

Les repas qu'on peut choisir sont variés, pour chacun quelque chose: viande, végétarien, poisson... Moi j'ai pris l'hamburger des galettes de p.d.t. avec du canard et foie gras. 👍👍👍 Quand les repas sont servis, ça a l'air bon et ça a du goût delicieux.
