We needed a stopover in this area, so the hotel was chosen mainly based on location. We generally look for 4 star minimum, boutique style hotels, so we were a little unsure when we booked this, but with limited choice and good reviews here gave it a go. ||||The hotel is in a very picturesque setting, with easy parking in the public car park opposite. First impressions were not great. A rather tired and unimpressive reception area, and as others have remarked, we would have expected at least an offer of help with luggage as our room was on the 2nd floor - with no lift, and stairs which are quite narrow in places. Once in the room though we were really surprised and pleased at how good it was - spacious, pristine clean, lovely bathroom area with spa and shower, double aspect windows with views of the river and village, and a large very comfy bed. There was really nothing more we could have asked for - certainly far exceeded expectations given the price. Dinner in the hotel restaurant (which was full with locals) was limited to 2 set menus or pizzas, but we both enjoyed our choices - no frills, but all well cooked and tasty. Breakfast was fairly limited but fine for the price paid. We did ask if it was possible to have eggs (and pay a supplement) but were told it wasn't possible which was a shame - it would have resulted in a 100% happy husband and an opportunity for the hotel to earn a bit more! Read moreVery cute little hotel in a small French town. Hotel stall were very friendly and helpful. They spoke broken English but figured out how to answer our questions and were very friendly. The hotel has free parking in a lot right in front of the entrance. Great views of the river and Pyrenees mountains. We had an excellent well priced dinner at the hotel and couldn't believe how packed the restaurant was. It was definitely the happening spot in this little town. Did not have breakfast as we wanted to try one of the local Bakeries. Taracson is very little and the whole town can be covered on foot pretty easily in an hour or two. More time could be spent hiking in the mountains surrounding the town. This was a Nice place to stay to visit the foix castle. Foix is a 15 minute drive away. We stayed 1 night as a pass...
