Maison Sophie — Restaurant in Gourdon

We had a lovely lunch here with a party of 5. The food is really good, and for our vegetarian party members there were a few choices (but don’t expect abundance of choice). We spend about €30 p.p. for lunch (starter and entree) and drinks.

Staff is very helpful and friendly, they set up an extra umbrella for the shade since our stroller was a bit in the sun, and they spoke both French and English to help us out with our spot.

Firstly, it was open at 2:30pm for lunch. Whatever next! Mon dieu! We had been turned away at another place an hour earlier because the kitchen was closed, and we thought we were early... Lors d'une balade en moto courant juillet 2020 pour visiter la région et notamment le très beau village de Martel, nous nous sommes arrêtés par hasard dans ce petit restaurant ... Du début à la fin, tout y a été parfait ! Un très bon accueil souriant (malgré le masque). On nous a ensuite aimablement proposé une petite table au calme à l'intérieur et sur les conseils de la personne qui s'est occupé de notre table (un jeune homme très agréable), nous avons pris un tartare de canard. Très franchement, compte tenu de la qualité des produits et des saveurs mis dans ce plat, nous n'avons pas regretté ce choix. Les desserts étaient tout aussi délicieux. A noter que la charmante personne à la caisse, (Charlotte je crois me rappeler) à été tout aussi agréable que son collègue de travail. Un rapport qualité / prix extraordinaire, un service à la fois professionnels et détendu et des plats de qualité où les saveurs, dénotent un amour du métier, ce qui est une véritable marque de respect pour les clients.
