Really disappointed with this restaurant, I would avoid at all costs. We were sat quickly but it was apparent the atmosphere was unpleasant upon arrival. It was clear that the only reason people came here was because everywhere else was full. Upon ordering (which took a long time) we told the staff that my partner was Coeliac and unable to eat anything containing wheat, barley or rye. The lady said to just choose something that doesn’t contain those things on the menu rather than point out what did or didn’t contain gluten. Eventually we settled on an omelette for her and a burger for me. After another long wait our food was served, unfortunately the memo around coeliac clearly didn’t reach the kitchen as the omelette came with chips, something we asked if they were cooked separately which they were not and therefore contaminated with gluten. Upon informing the staff about this the lady didn’t seem concerned and actually looked more annoyed that we pointed out the obvious problem with the chips which she has previously told us not to have because of the contamination. We then received a new plate a short while later which had the appeal of a wet rag and I’m told the taste was the same. The burger I had was also very disappointing. It was so covered in sauce that you could’ve mistaken it for a large sponge used in the washing up. It was so wet that the burger simply fell out of the bun upon trying to eat it. At this point we were so disappointed that we gave up on the meal, payed and left. When I went to pay the lady asked if we had finished, seemingly confused as to why our plates were not empty and why we left in such a hurry, she was either completely unaware of the horrid experience we had so far or just completely unbothered. I’d highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Clearly they’re not interested in providing a pleasant dining experience, an opinion clearly shared with other customers who looked as equally disappointed in their...
Read moreWe were rather let down by the Bellevue for a casual lunch. I’m not a fussy customer and could see that they were understaffed. That being said, the service was slow, bread was not served to us, there was a very long wait between courses and they were rather rude towards the end. On paying the bill 2 staff members continued on in private conversation without so much as making eye contact with me. I could see I was being overcharged (6 additional euro for a shandy on top of the price of the beer?!). All of this whilst talking about the English patrons (I assume they didn’t know I could understand them). My steak was sinewy and very undercooked - luckily there were chips. Other diners seemed to be enjoying their burgers. It was nice to be able to sit outside but there are better choices for...
Read moreThe burger was cooked well. HOWEVER what else was on the burger looked like it was tipped straight out of the bin onto the bun (which I got two bottom halves of). The chips where cold and probably fried so many times there was no potato left in it. The salad was just lettuce and was about the only part of the meal I enjoyed (but only if you like your salad drowned in vinegar). The service was not what I would expect from a good restaurant and waited about an hour for a single course meal. In conclusion the food is not worthy of its 12€50 price tag and I could prepare something better myself for a fiver from Tesco. I would never recommend this to anyone who is looking for a somewhat...
