We visited this restaurant with our two children, ages 15 and 11, and left feeling genuinely disappointed by the treatment we received.
We ordered a grill plate, a beef burger menu, and a 400 g grilled entrecôte. There was no children’s dish on the menu, so when our 11-year-old daughter (who actually had already eaten before) asked only for a crème brûlée, the staff insisted she must order a full meal as is the restaurant policy that everyone needs a full dish - also 11 years old kids (and no Kids dish on menue btw) Despite explaining she wasn’t hungry for a main course, we were told to place another full-size order or leave. With the late hour, we felt compelled to order an additional entrée, resulting in far more food than we could finish.
What stood out more than the extra food was the unfriendly service. We noticed waitstaff speaking about us behind our backs and casting disapproving glances in our direction. Their inflexible enforcement of policy and dismissive demeanour made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed.
The food itself was acceptable but unremarkable. Given the prices, we expected higher quality. As a restaurant with a kind of low cost Motel in same ownership, it’s understandable the offerings aren’t gourmet, but the value did not match the cost.
We dine out frequently and have never encountered service this rigid and inhospitable. Forcing a full-price adult order on a child who only wanted dessert demonstrates a lack of customer care. Combined with the staff’s poor attitude and the overpriced, mediocre food, this was easily one of our worst restaurant experiences.
We will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to others if you are looking for good food at value for money.
Update after Owners Feedback: The O Visconto owners appear to be quite sensitive to criticism - every negative review on Google is aggressively countered with attacks calling customers “liars,” “dishonest people,” and similar accusations. This response pattern reveals much about how this establishment and its ownership truly view their customers - prioritizing revenue maximization over providing quality food and service, then attacking anyone who dares to share their honest experience.
This defensive and unprofessional approach to feedback only reinforces the poor treatment we experienced during our visit. When a business responds to criticism with personal attacks instead of genuine efforts to improve, it speaks volumes about their character and commitment to customer satisfaction and food quality.
I encourage potential diners to read through the less positive reviews and the owners’ responses to get a complete picture of what to expect from this establishment.
By the Way: We were given a handwritten bill on a piece of paper that the owner sumup on her phone instead of the common customary printed receipt with VAT details that one typically expect if paying beyond 100 Euro. This unusual practice struck me a bit as being an owner...
Read moreWe came at 13.50 to have lunch, couple with one kid. Although there was no one in the queue, we waited politely (as there was a sign to wait there until a waiter comes). No waiter came. After some time, the lady at the bar near the terrace came. When we said we want to have lunch, she said bluntly “ah no, it’s 14, we close the kitchen”!!! I think it was really like 13.59-14.00 as I walked down the street in shock and when I looked at my phone it was 14.03. How horrible and rude this can be? This type of place should be shut down. I see from other reviews that also food is bad. No surprise, the staff seemed to have no interest in this business. Later edit: I see they commented we arrived at 14.10. This is a plane LIE. I looked at my phone when we crossed the street at it was 14.03 There were still people at the tables on the terrace eating and, while waiting, we saw the waiters bringing food twice, just 2-3 minutes before we also asked if we could eat there. Horrible service and liars to justify their lack of interest. As I said, just close the business. Horrible food, horrible service. What more feedback do you want to hear from...
Read moreThese people don’t know anything about operating business or dealing with people. First, they refuse to allow bringing our cake for a birthday, later (after good tip) they allow bringing cake but at the final moment they refuse to give plates. Imagine they don’t give you plates and tell you that you need to order their own desert to have plates and it doesn’t matter that you have a cake for a birthday party.
They don’t know anything about communication, dealing with clients and are self-centered with stupid principles. They do everything with smirk on their face.
There are also a lot of mosquitoes outside.
Don’t recommend these place, they are...
