Disappointing, After much research this seemed like the best place to get a cocktail in Grenoble. Finally visiting with my girlfriend we were not impressed. The first problem was upon entry, not a rude welcoming but certainly far from polite. As always I ordered a dry martini because that’s what I order whenever trying a new bar promising cocktails. I think it’s fair to treat a gin martini as a base for how anything else will be. The server had never heard of a martini cocktail and summoned a second. I I’m unsure if the second server knew what it was but told me they can’t make it. I looked through the menu to see a whole list of fruity “cocktails”, the kind served on cruise ships in the 80s, and the ones in vogue at the moment (think espresso martini, negroni etc…). Not being tempted to drink raspberry coulis with a shot of vodka I enquired as to why a simple and most well known cocktail was not possible. I asked if they have olives, gin and vermouth to which the answer was yes to all. As a 17 year industry veteran, I understand it can be annoying to make something not on the menu, but it’s a COCKTAIL BAR. Eventually and begrudgingly they decided they could mix some gin with vermouth. I did order clearly a dry martini. I was not asked a preference of gin. I received a very vermouth heavy liquid with no olives or twist or garnish at all. Was not pleasant to drink. My companion ordered off the menu and indeed received fruit coulis with ice and some clear spirit. She drank but did not rate well. The decor is supposed to resemble a cocktail bar like so many around the world but just ended up being old furniture that was run down and not comfortable. Desperate to leave, I paid my expensive bill and thought it best to use the bathroom before we wander the streets for who knows how long attempting to find a decent bar. The bathroom… well if I wanted to urinate then I had to stand in a large puddle of piss covering the mens bathroom floor, absolutely charming. On the plus side, this forced my date and I to a nearby restaurant where they served a perfect martini with...
Read moreAmazing mocktail options. since I don’t drink alcohol, I really appreciated the staff’s willingness to satisfy the customers and make a surprise non-alcoholic drink. Another day I asked for cold chocolate😂. I love hot chocolate but on a hot morning wanted iced chocolate and the staff went above and beyond to make me the best iced chocolate ❤️🔥. Lovely ambience inside especially in the evenings. Cute spot for chit chat with friends or cosying up on the cute Louis XIV couches and being all kissy kissy with...
Read moreNot impressed with this place, There is no table service, you have to go to the wall next to the counter to choose from the menu on the wall. I had the Blind Pig Cocktail itself is not great but passable or drinkable if you like. Now if you are a female and have to go to the toilet brace yourself to this very French concept, to go in and out of the female toilet, you have to pass the men urinol and just hope you won't see anything you don't want to. Not...
