Place is overrated, very crowded and without any sense of service (except transport part which is well organized). If you are unlucky you can be punch in a head by waiter serving other table (instead of sorry he told me that he has no eyes in the back of his head). If you are unlucky you can be place in the table almost in the kitchen and on the all waiters paths. Tables small to get maximum people in the night shift. Food extremely basic and overpriced. Second positive but not culinary experience is a piano outside which looks nice at night. So if you wish crowded place with average food without service that the place to go.

It’d be 5 stars if it wasn’t for the price. Very nice restaurant you can’t go to while skiing. Waiters were very nice and very quick, that’s always a plus ! Even though there was a lot of people it took so little time to get served, that was really impressive ! The food was good, especially the truffle pastas. To be honest everything was really nice and I would’ve put a 5 star review if we hadn’t paid almost 70€ (68€ to be precise) for a cheeseburger, pastas, a bottle of water and two coffees. A bit overpriced to me but everything else is great. Definitely worth going if you’re not on a budget !

Came here for dinner on the last night of our holiday - you need to book in advance, but it was such a good end to the holiday! The snow plough comes to pick you up from the bottom of the slope (by Marmottes 1), and at the end of the night it takes you back down. The food was lovely, views amazing and especially nice to see the same view at night that you see during the day when skiing. We had the mixed starter platter which had some incredible smoked salmon and trout, fondue (with very generous bread and cold meats), and cafe gourmand, and were so so full.

Today we’ve learned the French translation of arrogant. It’s la Cabane...

2022 update:

Cabane

Today my friend Martin and I ditched our group and while having breakfast aperol we decided to put some old vendettas behind us. A lot has happened over the years that past and I have to admit that my understanding of French people was wrong all along. This summer I had the privilege of attending a wedding of a very wealthy French family and I was pleasantly surprised by their kindness. This is something I recognize in the staff of la cabane. The puberty phase of the old gastronomique has whashed away and as we say in Dutch, she dried up very well. The music is classy, the bar tenders do tricks and the view is magnificent. However a little more females would be appreciated. But boy, they mix their aperol like Catherine Deneuve. Strong, independent, timeless and...

Bad service.

We waited for our two (bottled) beers for more than half an hour, before finally deciding to leave. The service was really bad and the waiter seemed rude.

When we arrived, my boyfriend went to the bar to order - but we were told, the waiter would come by our tabel. He did, but only to clean up whatever was left there. He didn't ask to take our order - so we had to get in contact with him the next time he went by (which took quite a while). He wrote down our order - but after a long wait (where he'd been by our table twice with a reciept and an order that didn't belong to us - and the people at the table next to us received their order even though they had arrived a lot later than us), we decided to leave. My boyfriend asked the waiter to cancel our order - which he barely seemed to understand.

We're definetely not...

Our dinks took over 30mins to arrive and came at the end of eating our food, after asking where they were several times, only when we said we no longer wanted them did our waiter take matters into his own hands and get them himself, they were soft drinks if we ordered cocktails i could almost understand. My food was a massive let down, falsely named pad Thai, prawn linguine would be a more fitting description, to make things worse the prawns were few and cut up to make it look like more! They win the world record for both worst and most expensive pad Thai, as well as slowest bar service. 3 world records, not bad, congratulations to the management. It was a busy day yes but that's no excuse, for cheap overpriced food, with terrible service. There are so many better options on...
