LA CASA — Restaurant in La Rochelle

Just returned from eating there this evening. We were planning on eating at Poseidon opposite but shut at 8. Nice outdoor seating area and was reasonably busy with about 10 couples/families. Menu fairy limited - mainly muscles and burgers (same as most restaurants in the locality). Took about 20 minutes to take our order - drinks fairly expensive - no offer of carafes of wine unlike opposite - glass or bottles only. Took a further 40 minutes for food to arrive. I can’t understand why, it wasn’t particularly busy and most of those who received their food before us ordered muscles which take no time to cook. I had the Spanish burger - had chorizo and egg on it. Slightly messy but was actually quite good. I’d say quite expensive though at €16. Fries it came with were poor being soggy. My wife ordered the moules mariniere - not as good as the ones she had opposite - smaller portion and not much to the sauce. Seemed to consist purely of liquor and large pieces of chopped onion. We ordered a second glass of wine but that failed to...

We drive past this restaurant every day while on our holiday at Port Punay. So finally we stopped and had lunch here. Nice food, lovely place to sit and service is friendly and nice! All in all a good place to have some lunch when you don't want to go to town for some lunch. We'll be back:-) addimg Another visit : we went back the next day and ordered pizza's to take away. Once again they were very good,, fresh, the crost was really good and the tast was perfect too. The service was very nice and the people were very friendly! Nice location, good, fresh food and friendly staff. We had the hamburger with homemade fries and salad and loved it, especially the homemade french fries, very yummy. And....we've been back to eat pizza: very delicious pizza with fresh ingredients and super crust. Very yummy! Today we were back again (08/2022) and we had salmon with pesto, very delicious!! 09/2023 and we're back again because of the nice location and good food. The menu still is interesting, prizes are up, portions are smaller but the food is still fresh and good, j'aime les...
