A quiet evening in early April so atmosphere is not really something to judge. We stopped just for apero - a drink and a snack - and chose from the small but interesting carte. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and special mention must be given to the rilettes de poisson which, as I said to him, where not as boring as I had expected! Read moreAs you can see from my ratings above, there is a lot to recommend about La Madrague. Unfortunately we were not the only ones feasting that evening. I counted 17 mosquito bites the next day and it is certain that this happened at the restaurant. We had to cut our visit short. I would strongly re commend that the restaurant fumigate the plants at the front of the outdoor terrace.
You may have no control over the mosquitos but let's not pretend that they are not a problem. Fact is however good your restaurant is I would not consider eating there again, and being eaten alive...
Read moreWe very much enjoyed our evening at La Madrague. It's simple: my wife swears it's the best fish she's had in her entire life. All three of us had three different fish dishes and I'd have them all again without hesitation. The tuna really gives the impression that it's a steak - perfectly cooked. Yes, it's on the pricier side. But I'd say you get what you pay for. It would likely be especially enjoyable on a nice day where you can make full use of the outdoor space right by the quiet beach in Angoulins. Plenty of parking spots...
