Horrible Racist Place

I totally understand the difficulties many restaurants are facing now because of the labour shortage and would never ever complain about any discomfort, or long waiting time or bad service or food. I came from the service sector and I understand how tiring those jobs are and how most restaurants are struggling to even provide bare minimum service. But what we experienced today was just plain discriminatory behaviour that has nothing to do with the staff shortage. We arrived at a busy lunch time and the restaurant was full. We asked the guy (tall, plump, around 45, not sure if he’s the owner or a manager) who was at the entrance seating customers, that we would like a table for two and we could wait. **(my husband is French so it’s not a problem of language also.) He didn’t even acknowledge us much and didn’t even say how long the wait will be. We asked again if we could have a drink at the counter while waiting for the table, and he just pointed at the counter. So, we ordered our drinks and patiently waited at the counter. As the time went by and tables after tables became available, he still won’t seat us. There were many customers without reservations came in and he kept seating them. At first, we thought he has forgotten us. But he also looked at us from time to time, which made me thought that he knew we were still waiting. After some time, my husband went to him to ask about the table and he just ignored and walk away again. At that point we understood what was going on and we just left the restaurant. As much as I hesitate to point out the race card, there’s just no other explanation. We spoke the language, we were polite, we were patient, there were tables available, people who came after us without reservations had been seated. There’s just no understandable reason why he won’t seat us. I just wanna say good luck to them in this economy and this labour market with that kind...

Great place that could use an improvement of the service. Although not bad per se, they seemed down, sad, unhappy or tired. Or all of the above.

Food was great though, bar food. Hamburger was fine. Seated tuna steak was nice. Ordered it rare and got it rare. 👍 Vast drinks menu, obviously. Kidd menu featured chicken nuggets, home-made. Excellent however the flour coating contained high enough amounts of cayenne pepper which did take to my kids (2 and 6 yrs...

À tout hasard, votre serveur moustachu serait-il parisien ? J'ai rarement vu un serveur aussi antipathique.

Je me suis installée en terrasse cet après-midi avec mes 2 filles. Monsieur vient nous voir pour prendre les commandes: j'indique que je vais prendre un petit pot de Ben & Jerry's pour moi puis demande à mes 2 filles successivement quel parfum de glace elles veulent. L'une puis l'autre me répond "mangue". J'indique donc au serveur "et 2 boules de mangue svp".

Monsieur arrive quelques minutes plus tard avec mon pot et 1 seul bol de 2 boules de mangue, avec 1 cuillère. J'indique qu'il y a eu une erreur : qu'il fallait 1 boule par enfant. J'ajoute que cela tombait sous le sens, puisqu'il avait lui-même assisté aux choix consécutifs de mes filles. Il me répond sèchement qu'il ne peut pas savoir si tout le monde à la table prend quelque chose (🤯). Je demande donc un 2e bol et une 2e cuillère. Il rapporte un verre et le pose au milieu de la table sans aucune excuse ni considération. Toujours pas de 2e cuillère.

Le client étant visiblement mieux servi par lui-même, je vais chercher, à defaut, une fourchette dans l'îlot central.
