Café de la Cité — Restaurant in Laon

We stumbled upon this bar while roadtripping through France and thinking it was a coffee shop (we actually just needed to use the loo.) The charming proprietor (and equally delightful daughter) were very helpful and friendly. He made us our drinks with lots of humour and balancing on barstools searching for biscuits and paraphernalia to find the necessary bits and pieces only to inform us that nobody had ever ordered a cappuccino from him so he didn’t have a price point for it on the till and we could have them for free. Now if that doesn’t deserve a good review - then I don’t know...
