Bistro Pharell — Restaurant in Libourne

We ate here at the end of August and I didn't get round to giving them a review till now. It was really something. Unexpected and familiar: the mixture of African spices and French techniques and in the case of the Caesar Salad the best our friends had tasted. What a surprise it was to find this wonderful restaurant in an unexpected place. It was the only open restaurant around so we did not have much of a choice and we really lucked out.

The patio out back has great vibes and the hospitality was excellent.

Assez surprise de voir autant de commentaires élogieux sur ce restaurant. Les plats sont bons mais les saveurs ne sont pas spécialement innovantes ou incroyables pour le prix.

Pour ma part même si cela fait plus d'un an que j'y suis allée, je reste encore amère vis à vis de mon expérience. Tout part d'un malentendu à propos de la cuisson de ma viande, j'en fait la remarque à la serveuse qui me propose de renvoyer l'assiette en cuisine une première fois, je refuse car la viande, même si la cuisson n'est pas tout à fait à mon goût, me convient quand même. Puis elle me re-propose de renvoyer l'assiette et devant son insistance je finis par accepter pensant que ce serait l'histoire de quelques minutes. J'attends, ma famille attend avec moi dans un premier temps et voyant les minutes défiler je leur suggère de manger leur plat qui refroidit puis j'attends, encore et encore que le mien arrive... les tables se vident autour de nous, des personnes venues après nous partent..

Bref, au final, le chef me l'apportera lui même... après avoir servi tout le reste des tables et des commandes... Autrement dit?! A la fin de son service..! Puis il reste à notre table pendant 10 minutes, imposant sa présence sans qu'on ne lui ait demandé quoi que soit et tout fanfaron, fier de son coup sans doute.

Résultat: un repas mangé en vitesse avec une boule au ventre pour sortir au plus vite de ce restaurant et un moment, avec ma famille que je ne vois que rarement, gâché par un chef avec un léger problème d'ego...
