La Puce — Restaurant in Libourne

I was looking for something reasonably priced and good around/in Saint Emilion and luckily we found this one, that was also recommended by the chateau we had visited a couple of hours before. I had reserved over the phone a few days before and that avoided the disappointment of looking for somewhere else as it was full.

There is no menu to choose from, you just get the homemade fare of the day: soup, starters (homemade meat pate), main dish, cheese, dessert, wine and coffee, all included in a never seen in France 14 euros menu (even on a Saturday)!!!

Concerning the quantity and quality it was just perfect, nothing fancy but just good and plain food.

Really cool place with a lot of food served but unfortunately, I still have diarrhea 24 hours after eating here. The only thing I ate different from my wife was that I had the cheese for desert. Maybe that was it. Pity as I had such high hopes. On another note, and this bothers me to this minute, I handed our waitress 2 Euros as a tip because she was running around so much and I wanted to show her appreciation. Un restaurant qui vous remplie l'estomac et les yeux avec de la bonne cuisine. Toutes catégories sociales se trouve autour des plats succulents. Le menu change tout les jours. Vous avez droit à une soupe été comme hiver. Au moins trois entrés arrivent sur la table et il faut tout finir. Si vous n'avez pas fait attention vous n'avez déjà plus faim. Ensuite plusieurs choix de plats qu' 'on vous sert sans que vous commandiez. Le dessert et le vin qui est de leur production font partie du menu. 3 salles différents. A l'entrée c'est un peu mélangé. Genre: touriste, cadre, propriétaire terrien... salle de gauche c'est souvent les ouvrier et les employés qui aiment se retrouver. La salle de derrière public tout sortes et groupes. La patronne sympathique et toujours très polie est la nièce de "la puce qui a plus de 80 ans. Son mari s'occupe de la cuisine.
