Restaurant La Cave — Restaurant in Limoges

We waited to be seated, and after a while I thought we were supposed to just sit down somewhere. There was no sign telling us to wait either. We sat at an open table for two, where neibouring tabkes were either eating or ordering food. The table next to us was reserved, ours was free. A woman with blonde curly hair eventually spotted us and came over, just staring at us. I spoke in French and asked if we can eat lunch since she looked so puzzled. She exclaimed “No!” And as we proceeded to get up she angrily waved us to another section of the restaurant. Here a friendly young man helped us. The woman then came over after a while and gave us menus, this time trying to be friendly and looking a bit sheepish. So the score for service and atmosphere would have been zero, but the two is for the young man and a young lady bringing our food over. The rating for food is zero for mine and the two is for my niece’s food. An ice cold poached egg on a thin, stale piece of bread with almost NO avocado and lots of tomato and onions… when I ordered avocado, salmon and poached egg on toast. They should add onions and tomato to the menu. I ate only the pomme frites and smoked salmon, and left the raw, cold egg white. Will never go...

carte qui ne correspond pas du tout à ce qui est servi. La salade gourmande devait contenir un toast avec une belle tranche de foie gras, vu sur photo, la 1ere serveuse qui était aimable, me dit qu'il n'y a pas de foie gras, je peux comprendre, grippe aviaire , etc...elle me dit on remplace par de la mousse de canard avec un peu de foie gras dedans. j'ai dit ok. Déception quand ma commande est arrivée. un toast avec une tranche de rillette de canard avec un peu de foie gras, tranche de moins de 1 cm, et très salé. quand la deuxième serveuse est arrivée, j'ai voulu lui dire, elle m'a répondu, vous avez accepté, donc...finalement il faut que je me taise. je lui ai fait remarquer que le menu est trompeur, salade gourmande, avec gésiers ,on trouve les mêmes en grande surface sous plastique, et fois gras. assiette à 12 euros 90. Elle m'a répondu qu'elle ne pouvait pas effacer cette assiette sur le tableau, c'est le menu pour un an. il y a de quoi rire ! Serveuse, désagréable et arrogante, qui au lieu de s'excuser , normal, c'est quand même un gros mensonge, nous renvoie balader. Quand à la 3ieme serveuse, pour les glaces, pas un sourire, vous arrache le menu des mains. super sympathique. Apéritif, attente d'une bonne demi heure pour avoir une assiette de tapas surgelé. Nous avons demandé par deux fois, de l'eau, il a fallut que ma fille se déplace pour qu'on finisse par avoir une bouteille. Oui, il y avait du monde, c'est sur, et ce qui est sur aussi, il y a une totale désorganisation. On pose à peine les couverts que nos assiettes sont enlevées. La patronne n'était pas là, c'est bien dommage. IL est sur que je ne reviendrai pas dans ce restaurant, et que je n'encouragerai pas mes amis a y aller . A éviter. Merci d'avoir gâché, une soirée que ma fille était heureuse de nous offrir. j'ai oublié , les frites ne sont pas maison, contrairement à ce qu'on...

Waitresses were very welcoming and one of them spoke excellent English. We were warned that they were busy and we might have to wait a while. Drinks and food arrived quicker than expected. Service was very good. Unfortunately, the burger came with very little in it and the lower bun was just a soggy mess. The side salad was just lettuce with a very light dressing. The chips were excellent but served in a single bowl from which we all had take a share! Four people eating chips off...
