L'Arbre à Pin — Restaurant in Lisieux

We had a fantastic meal here while holidaying in the region. The staff were very friendly, and accommodated our rather chaotic arrival (evening parking in Houlgate isn't fun) as well as access needs (we were one of two parties with a family member in a wheelchair). Their accessible entrance was stepless, although I think it would have been a struggle to get a wheelchair into the toilets. The seating is tiered so that if you're further from the sea, you can see out over the other diners, and with a long mirror mounted along the back wall, even those with their back tk the sea got a sea view, which was fantastic. The food was delicious, with good quantity as well as quality - with perhaps the exception of the moules marinières, which had a thin sauce that was sparingly applied. Great venue with a fantastic view from our table looking out over the sea. The food was decent, everyone enjoyed their food and we had pizzas, pasta and steak. So they are good at variety, but I believe pizza is definitely their strong point. The service was impeccable, really friendly staff, who allowed us to try our rusty french and found it amusing but seemed to enjoy it, even though their English was embarrassing good. We have just had a fantastic meal at this restaurant in Houlgate. Following a recommendation, we visited as a family of four. Upon arrival, we advised that our French was minimal, and from that moment we were spoken to in English and made to feel at home. The traditional Normandy food was amazing, well priced and the service was excellent. If you are local to Houlgate, then we strongly recommend that you take the time to visit this lovely restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach.
