Buffalo Grill Gémenos — Restaurant in Marseille

It's probably not an ideal location, situated in an industrial area nestled behind a business and a Best Western Hotel, but it seems to do OK. I visited on a Thursday night, quite early, and it was busy enough to warrant a live band (which started to play at 8pm). There's plenty of parking at the front of the restaurant, and dogs are allowed inside....so extra points for that. The restaurant inside is spacious, containing many tables with different types of seating (chairs or padded booth seats) and has different sections. I was located in a section separate from where the band was playing. Overall, it had a nice atmosphere. I was greeted by a friendly waitress who, lucky for me, spoke some English (I unfortunately only know very little French). She was patient enough as I struggled to interpret the menu (only in French)....which is quite large and doesn't include the dessert section (that's on the table as a placemat... and lots of options, too). Whilst I endeavoured to interpret the menu, the waitress brought out complimentary bread rolls (warmed, but rock hard) and a tiny bowl of salad (consisting mostly of lettuce leaves). For entrees, I ordered 8x onion rings. These were nice but were only accompanied by a tiny bowl (thimble) of BBQ sauce...a bit expensive for the portion. For the main fare, I ordered the XXL Caramelised Pork Ribs. These were tender, but lacking the caramelised taste and more like a charcoal taste....again the accompanied sauce portion was woefully inadequate. Furthermore, the ribs could've been served hotter, as the portion on the bottom was quite cool. I think they need to heat up the plates, as I believe this was the cause of the low temperature. The French Fries that came with the dish were quite nice but were unsalted. The price would've been justified had the dish...

As an American, I can give you the authentic recommendation to avoid this place. It's like a bad version of Texas roadhouse, which is itself a bad American chain restaurant.

We were served chicken wings that were cold in the middle as part of a platter of other fried food. They took the platter back and dumped the whole thing back in the fryer.

We were told they didn't have chicken for the mac and cheese, so we ordered nuggets on the side for our son. They brought a whole kids menu and the mac and cheese came with the chicken anyway.

They forgot my steak. I guess when the server tried to change the mac and cheese they deleted my steak order.

No compensation for anything. No apology for anything. Welcome to...

Quelle horrible soirée. Arrivés vers 20h, nous essayons de voir si il y a de la place. La personne à l'accueil nous répond par la positive. Nous nous installons. La prise de la commande a déjà été un peu longue mais l'entrée arrive assez vite. On se régale. Puis... 50 minutes d'attente avant d'avoir le plat principal. J'ai bien dit 50 minutes. L'exaspération monte, je vais voir la responsable qui me dit qu'elle va se renseigner sur la raison du retard. Elle n'en a rien fait puisqu'elle a continué à accueillir les nouveaux clients. La serveuse (sympathique et débordée) nous explique qu'en cuisine ils ne sont que 2. J'ai bien dit 2 cuisiniers pour tout le Buffalo Grill. C'est l'employé de la plonge qui fait également le service (c'est lui qui nous l'a dit). Très sympa, il explique que ce soir, il manque du personnel de partout. Nous sommes Samedi soir. Fatigués d'avoir autant attendu sans aucune information, nous en restons là, notre envie de dessert pouvant être sujette à une nouvelle attente interminable. Nous allons payer et en attendant la personne de l'accueil, nous nous retrouvons avec deux autres couples également excédés de cette organisation déplorable. Certains sont là depuis 2 heures. Nous depuis 1h50. Lors de l'encaissement, nous demandons un geste commercial qui nous est sèchement refusé. Nous manifestons vivement notre colère pour un service minable et l'employé répond, droit dans ses bottes, qu'on nous avait annoncé qu'il y avait de l'attente. Ce qui est faux: on ne nous a jamais dit cela en entrant. Il enchaîne en expliquant qu'à partir du moment où cela est annoncé, c'est normal d'attendre. Attendre oui, 50 mn voire 1 heure pour un burger, non. Au lieu d'être compréhensif, l'employé se montre véhément, à la limite de la mauvaise foi. Fuyez à tout prix le Buffalo Grill de Gémenos. Cela n'en vaut pas la peine. C'est du pur foutage de gueule. Service déplorable et aucune empathie face au client qui n'a pas mangé de manière sereine et qui a perdu 2 heures de sa vie. Autre fait à savoir: la priorité dans ce restaurant est donnée aux commandes en livraison par rapport au clients présents. Cela...
