La Calanque Blanche Restaurant — Restaurant in Marseille

I had booked this restaurant for my birthday. I chose it for the view and the fact that it is easy to park right in front. We arrived at 8.30 pm and at 9.30pm the three course meal was over!!!! The service was so quick we only had the time to drink half our cocktail when our starter came. We weren’t even asked if we wanted any wine. The food was ok but very pricey for what was in the plate. We ordered a dessert (see photo), it was charged 12€, it wasn’t homemade and it came in a plastic ring that we had to take off ourselves. I finished my cocktail with the dessert that was nothing to write home about. We had to pay the bill by the bar and there was a queue of at least 20 people waiting. It was the same as eating in a Flunch cafeteria. I will never go there again. It’s a pity cause the location is beautiful and very convenient. Their aim is to serve as quick as possible and the food is really not worth the price. I would avoid ...

The restaurant has a nice view but is poorly managed. We came at 21.15 o’clock and were first told that the restaurant was fully booked (even though it was almost empty, even when it filled up a bit more there were still plenty of seats left). Another waiter was so kind to give us a table. The most senior waitress was clearly annoyed by that and made us wait longer than the tables around us for our bottle of wine etc. The atmosphere was so tense, it felt rude. We would have been ready to spend a lot of money that evening but felt weirdly second-class customers. To me, that way of treating guests feels completely...

Do yourself a favorite and arrive 30-45 minutes before your reservation and walk down to the actual Calanque Blache for a beautiful scenic moment before your meal.

The tarama was incredible, the octopus w polenta was delicious, but the star of the show was the coconut cake. To be honest, we are not typically a dessert family, but the food was delicious so we felt obligated and man were we delighted. Blankets are also offered as a nice touch as it can get windy in the evening.

The service is very friendly and fairly quick. We've already recommended friends to visit and it is on the list for our next trip...
