Don’t let the unassuming storefront fool you! This family-owned pizzeria has a to-go counter up front, but the magic happens in their charming back patio, covered by perfect, large trees forming a natural canopy.
Hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had. My husband works in F&B and has experience at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants - he was equally impressed. The wood-fired crust strikes the perfect balance: thin but substantial, crispy yet chewy. Toppings are perfectly portioned and the flavors are exceptional. First bite had us both speechless except for involuntary “mmm”s. We had the carbonara and l’orientale (with merguez) pizzas, and tiramisu for dessert. Both pizzas were amazing, but the carbonara was the standout. The tiramisu is traditional, homemade by the family matriarch…and perfect!
This is truly a family affair - the grandmother of 6 served us with such warmth, while her two sons crafted the pizzas and her daughter-in-law also helped with service. She mentioned her husband calls to check in regularly too. When we mentioned our honeymoon, grandma insisted on complimentary dessert liqueur. Her daughter-in-law warmly congratulated us and asked us to stay for a “small surprise.”
They surprised us with a guitarist who serenaded us with “Bésame Mucho” and French love songs! The entire restaurant - mostly neighborhood locals - clapped and sang along. It was magical and emotional in the best way.
The restaurant is about a 30-minute walk from Le Ciotat beach or 7 minute drive in a residential area with no other restaurants around it. Very much a local neighborhood spot where you feel the genuine hospitality.
This isn’t just dinner - it’s an experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic, family-run hospitality alongside exceptionally...
Read moreI called in our order for take away. We ordered lasagna and tiramisu. Both were amazing! My lasagna was a touch scorched on top. Not a hanging offense as I don’t mind a few crunchy bits. Every bit of it was hand made. The noodles were light and soft. The bechemel was flavorful and fluffy. And the bolognese sauce was delicious too. Not too acidic. Just right! Huge portion. One will feed two. Really delicious. Then the tiramisu. Again huge portion, light, fluffy and delicious. Good coffee, not soggy and not sickening sweet. Just perfect. And as a bonus, they speak English. Consider eating here, you will not be disappointed. Oh, there’s a walk up counter and a large parking lot to the left of the restaurant as you are looking at it...
Read moreSince we were spending a week in La Ciotat and were craving pizza, we ended up here—and it was absolutely fantastic! We were welcomed so warmly and kindly. The people working there were incredibly friendly and cheerful, and the food was truly delicious.
When we decided to go back on our last evening—already knowing how much we had enjoyed it—we had just as much fun and another amazing meal.
I really recommend everyone to skip the restaurants by the water for once and head a bit further into La Ciotat to enjoy some truly fantastic pizza served by the loveliest people.
