Hôtel-Restaurant Les Italiens — Restaurant in Mont-de-Marsan

We booked Les Italiens via booking.com as a hotel break between two episodes of camping. The booking confirmation stated that check-in was from 2 pm onwards. We duly arrived at about 3.30 anxious for a shower and rest after our first camp-site. The hotel and adjoining restaurant were totally shut up and a note on the door told us that reception was closed until 6.30 and to phone for check-in. When we called there was no response. Fortunately we were able to locate another hotel in town L'Atlantide, which miraculously - given that it was the height of the holiday season - had one room remaining. Here the staff were amazingly helpful and pleasant, breakfast was good and the room certainly met our needs.||||A few days later when I checked my e-mail I found that I had been charged for a 'no-show' and when I returned home, I found that I had been charged the full amount rather than the 50% which was stated in the terms and conditions. ||||Still waiting for a...

We were asked to ring if arrival outside late lunchtime or early evening. We were passing at 11.30 in the morning and room was ready. Nice small hotel with good air con in the room. Wifi in the room didn't work but otherwise the room was fine. Clean and the bed was good. Not too noisy. Friendly staff, some English spoken. Plenty of parking space and a good restaurant attached. The breakfast service was a bit haphazard but, by French small hotels...
