We stayed in Mimizan for three days and ate at La Dérive every single night. We looked around town but couldn’t find anywhere as good.

The cocktails were excellent, the food was fantastic with lots of small plates and tapas, and the staff were incredibly attentive with fast, friendly service.

Ci siamo recati in questo locale ieri sera per un aperitivo. Ci hanno servito due signorine: la prima gentilissima, piena di premore (ci ha offerto anche le coperte). Abbiamo poi ordinato 4 cioccolate calde che sono arrivate tiepide e liquide. Allora: le cioccolate calde devono esser calde, dense e a base di cioccolato, mi permetto di ricordare. Lo sanno tutti. Queste erano liquide, anacquate e con una spruzzata di nesquik. Siamo italiani, è vero, e siamo abituati all'ottima cucina, sappiamo però essere anche avventurosi e amanti dei sapori diversi e gustosi; ma così è una presa in giro: Acqua colorata. Le patatine ordinate per disperazione? Bruciate, letteralmente. Peccato, la cucina francese ci piace, ma qua la cucina ed il bar hanno qualche problemino.
