L'Atelier — Restaurant in Montauban

Went one evening three of us, I had heard two different opinions about this place, one from an English lady ( said it was good) one from french couple ( said it was awful) well it was pretty bad. First of all very little choice, nothing except plain salad for veggies. Ok, I had plain salad and dessert asked for a cafe liégeois, they gave me a gooey ice cream nuts honey or caramel and whipped cream..not at all a cafe liégeois, which is coffee with coffee or vanilla ice cream and Chantilly. My friend had saucisse de Toulouse, with loads of mushy greyish re re re cooked potatoes. My other friend got their tournedos or whatever( also tons of the same awful potatoes)..she asked for rare...it was still ice cold in the middle and she could not cut the meat ..TOO TOUGH !! We told them, no answer, no sorry, no let us change it, or let us deduct from the bill, as they clearly saw the meat untouched......total "ignore you guys .just pay!"! We had wine, water and a very be unsatisfactory meal. We were told after that the owners are not professional cooks nor have restaurant experience....

The staff were lovely, the food was delicious, and the prices were very correct, especially given the quality and quantity that was served. It's not in the center so it's very peaceful, and most of the food is locally sourced.

It was a wonderful lunch and I'd definitely come back, it felt like home. There was even a little cat that came to say hello and wanted cuddles so that's an extra...

C'est complètement par hasard que nous avons atterri sur la terrasse de "L'atelier". Le soleil nous attendait déjà. Thomas vint nous accueillir avec un large sourire et une dose d'humour. Après une expérience lyonnaise durant le covid, voici le jeune homme de retour au pays. Le père et le fils sont aux commandes. Les mets sont copieux, vraiment bons et à des prix très raisonnables. Pas de chichi mais un service impeccable. Et cerise sur le gâteau, une mouche qui vint faire le spectacle sur un bout de nappe en jouant avec une graine de pain. Royal! Une adresse à retenir lors d'un prochain passage. Merci pour ce moment très agréable... Alexandre et...
