I visited this abomination of a restaurant (if you can even call it that) a few weeks ago. I have just gotten to writing this review as I had to collect my thoughts on my experience.
For starters the services was extremely slow we waited forever even to be shown a menu and a drink menu. We then probably waited another hour for main meals to be brought out and instead of cooking our food the chef kept on coming out and telling us he was about to start cooking our meals keep in mind we had been sitting there for probably well over a hour. I understand wait times can be long especially in the summer period but I find waiting over an hour for a small piece of meat absolutely diabolical.
After the extremely long wait the food came out and I can’t speak for the other members of my family but my meat was extremely chewy and not tender at all and other family members tried my food and agreed with me. I also asked for my meat medium rare and when it came out, the cow was practically mooing on the plate. For my dessert a got some kind of fruit sorbet my sorbet was drowning in some kind of juice. Good thing I have watched a lot of bondi rescue and I knew what to do to save my sorbet. I think in total I ate about five bites of my food and I didn’t touch the rest of it. I did enjoy the chips though. The kids in my family got the chicken nuggets from the kids menu and they looked like low quality frozen chicken nuggets (I’m pretty sure McDonald has better quality chicken nuggets than this restaurant).
I also found the customer service extremely poor. The waitress spilled some drinks and they fell on the ground and instead of dealing with the situation with professionalism she instead stood there for a good two minutes not saying anything which was extremely awkward for my entire family and me and then after the fact my daughter informed me that the waitress was mumbling under her breath and was using some foul language and was cursing. I found all of this extremely unprofessional. The older guys who is the owner of the restaurant ( I think) was also extremely rude as well. I had gone to the restaurant earlier that week as my children are pickier eaters. I was told that they would be accommodating and my older children could eat off the children’s menu even though they were over 12. This was in fact not the case when we were there this guy told us that only the younger children could eat off the children’s menu. Not to judge someone’s character but it is very rude and mean to go around ruining teenagers holiday because they want a few chicken nuggets and you also lied to me by telling me something and then going back on your words and I hate liars I think they are the worst people in this world . My oldest child was extremely upset and she also really didn’t enjoy the food she was brought out in the end and ended up not eating a lot of her food. My other daughter was also very upset as she is a budding artist and she will make art out of anything, she made a beautiful piece of work and she told me the waitress lifted it off the table and crumpled it up in front of her. The owner also told my six year old niece about his dead mother which I fond extremely unprofessional.
Anyway with all of that said I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone I would recommend everyone stay away from it with at least a 50 foot pole and I definitely wouldn’t ever...
Read moreWe only discovered this place because we had visited Saint Savin for the Abbey across the square but would come back just for the restaurant. Accommodated us without reservation for lunch. Bi-lingual owners coped with our pigeon French with a smile. Offered a small selection on the menu de Jour which was an unusual surprise, every dish in every course was lovely. ...
