Hôtel Restaurant du Parc — Restaurant in Moulins

About fifteen or so years ago we fetched up at the Hotel Restaurant Le Parc in Moulins, not sure why or how but it was memorable. Our room was at the end of a long, dark corridor; the bed felt as though it was a horsehair mattress - with the horse still in it and the bathroom had quite the biggest bath I had ever been in. But the staff were delightful and the restaurant was quite utterly brilliant.||||Scroll forward to this year and our first time back in the area and as we had so often talked about this hotel we just had to go back. A quick look at their website showed that it had been updated so it should be OK. And we were NOT disappointed.||||SatNav makes finding places so much easier so I followed the instructions which took us straight to the hotel car park - a real bonus. Everything was spotless, bright and airy and after we had checked in we were shown to our room, not something that happens much these days.||||This time we had a chance to look around Moulins which is a delightful town with lots of interesting buildings and some reasonable shopping. Then it was back to our room for a rest before dinner.||||The dining room was full with both residents and non-residents which is always a good sign. The meal itself was an absolute delight, beautifully presented and everything delicious. Mrs Sixwheeler and I both had the Charolais steak for our main; Mrs S believes it was the best steak she has ever eaten and I'm not going to argue with that.||||A good breakfast in the morning to send us on our way and I hope that we may get back there before another fifteen...

We wanted a hotel where we could walk into town for a look round and this seemed only option. Some years since I used logis de France and now I remember why. The restaurant for which they are renowned was closed so we went out, ||The room was clean and also the bathroom thankfully but room so old and furnished from 1980s I think. Same for the grand restaurant. We did not sleep much as bed uncomfortable and noise transfer from other rooms... ||Worst of all was breakfast. No proteins only sugary cereals, bread or cake with tasteless jam. Only saving grace plain yogurt and some fruit. As for the coffee it was like dishwater. I was relieved we had not had chance to eat in their restaurant ...

Josiana, notre Conseillère en Habitat et Résidence, nous a trouvé une adresse de séjour à Moulins sur Allier, non loin du quartier historique, un hôtel * avec restaurant. Hôtel le Parc, au 31 avenue Général Leclerc, faisant partie de chaîne hôtelière Logis Hôtel, classé en Essentiel pour l’hôtel et en Gourmand pour le restaurant. Une maison, créée en 1901, avec sa façade de briques, reprise en 1956 par Bernard et Jeannette Barret dans un esprit familiale, et dans la conservation des traditions, exploitée, de père en fils, et par la reprise, en 1997, du fils Phillipe Barret, lui en Chef de Cuisine, assisté de son épouse Marie-Paule et de sa soeur Françoise Thibault de Beauregard, pour la réception Hôtelière, soit 69 ans d’activité familiale. Pour la troisième génération la lignée se poursuit avec Jean Thibault de Beauregard, qui à 32 ans, est Maître d’Hôtel à la célèbre adresse parisienne du, Georges V. Une reprise, depuis le 16 avril 2025, par Jean-Christophe et Sammantha Belin, des professionnels qui tenaient le Grand-Hôtel** Montespan-Talleryand en la cité thermale, de Bourbon-l’Archambault, de 2017 à 2023. Cet établissement dispose de 26 chambres, de 15 à 20 m2, sur 2 étages, avec ascenseur, insonorisées, climatisées, moquettées, avec toutes les commodités, armoire ou penderie, bureau, téléphone, télévision à écran plat et chaînes satellite, salle de bain privative, avec baignoire ou douche, toilette séparée, sèche-cheveux, avec ou sans coin salon et canapé, connexion wifi gratuit, dont 2 chambres réservées aux PMR, situées dans l’annexe de la cours de l’hôtel, allant de la catégorie, standard à la catégorie familiale, doté d’un service de nuit, d’une bagagerie, d’un parking privé et gardé et se trouvant à proximité d’un parc verdoyant, le square Général Leclerc. Le plus, deux prises pour la recharge de batterie de voiture électrique. Le petit déjeuner, pouvant être servis en chambre. Une capacité à recevoir 57 personnes. Que dire, de nos trois chambres, au très bon couchage, bien exposées, et d’une propreté irréprochable et aussi le régal des bons petits...
