Auberge du Zoo — Restaurant in Mulhouse

We had the pleasure of spending a delightful Christmas dinner at Auberge du Zoo, and it was an experience to remember. The location is stunningly designed, with impressive attention to detail that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The grand hall on the ground floor is spacious and elegant, while the upper level offers cozy sofas, perfect for relaxing after a meal.

We started our evening with their award-winning cocktail, which truly lived up to its reputation—perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. For starters, we enjoyed the foie gras, which was rich and flavorful. Our main courses included scallops and veal, both of which were exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity.

The place is nice and well kept, the service is 5 ⭐, the food however was a but disappointing. Not just for me but for some of the others who ate. I got the meat Choucroute, and others got the fish Choucroute. We both were disappointed by the sauerkraut itself, and the potatoes weren't done well.. we sent them back and they brought back new potatoes but they were still not done well.. some other people got the steak tar tar and it was really good.

But because the service was so good, they kept apologizing and offering other stuff, we didn't need it but it was very appreciated. And they treated us for champagne at the end Which was a nice touch. I'd come back for sure but because I know they are professionals. I just might not order the Choucroute..

Si vous voulez vous faire plaisir ainsi qu’à vos invités : comblée l’an passé, j’ai renouvelé l’expérience à l’Auberge Alsacienne du Parc Zoologique à Mulhouse avec mes 3 convives. Bien m’en a pris !!! Le parking, bien que grand, était occupé. Cela s’explique par un mariage célébré dans cette magnifique bâtisse au décor raffiné. Nous fûmes accueillis fort aimablement par Mr EHRHART, le maître-queue, en personne. L'isolation de la véranda a été bien pensée : nous avons passé une soirée tranquille avec un fond musical agréable grâce à la fête voisine. La météo capricieuse fut compensée par des lampes chauffantes au design original (délicate attention !). Le service avec le sourire fut rapide (4 personnes pour nous 4…) en dépit du mariage. Les plats copieux, bien chauds, très joliment présentés dans une vaisselle simple et moderne. J'ai savouré notamment des scampis moelleux à souhait dans une pâte super croustillante et 2 poissons hyper fondants ! Mes 3 convives ne tarirent pas d’éloges de l’entrée au dessert. Le tout fut arrosé par un vin conseillé par le chef de rang très avisé, sérieux dans son travail mais doté d’un humour opportun. La note : très raisonnable pour cette cuisine de qualité dans laquelle on ressent la passion du chef. La date était dépassée de quelques jours mais mon repas d’anniversaire me fut offert (mes invités purent choisir un autre menu...). Formidable ! L’adage « jamais 2 sans 3 » sera sûrement respecté par cette équipe formidable l’année prochaine (au moins pour l’anniversaire si ce n’est...
