Café des Voyageurs — Restaurant in Nîmes

We came here for a drink after a wedding in the local church on 7th October to try and see some of the town and support Local business. We speak a little French and tried to engage with the waiter but required a little assistance from a friendly customer.

We were then harassed for the entire time we were at the bar by a very drunk woman in bare feet who kept asking us questions we could not understand and she became increasingly frustrated with us. She then found an equally drunk man who proceeded to swear at us and tell us to leave town. We paid our bill and went to our car where we were aggressively followed along the street and repeatedly told to leave town. The man proceeded to film us on his phone until we had left.

A few customers were very apologetic for the behaviour of these two individuals who seemed to be well known to the bar staff (and I imagine spend most of their days in a sad drunken stupor in this bar). I was shocked at the whole event and that there was no attempt by the bar staff to intervene in what can only be called Xenophobic harassment.

Whilst the majority of people we encountered in the region were friendly and patient with us, it is a shame that there are a few individuals who hold bigoted views and actively discourage tourism (something that this town would definitely benefit from given the crumbling buildings and strong smell of sewerage everywhere).

I would actively discourage any foreign person from going to this bar as we feared...

Depuis la levée du confinement j'y vais régulièrement. Personnels sympathique au petit soins. Belle terrasse. Et surtout une viande de qualité .se que je préfère c'est au barbecue mon dieu un régal cuisson o top sa en devient de la gourmandise et oui ..prix correct..je recommande sa c'est sûr..le grilladier génial...et c moi madame andouillettes mon péché mignon j'en ai jamais mangé des aussi excellente..et le patron bien...

Attente très longue. Salade "île paradize" commandée (salade + toast chèvre chaud) à 8,50€ jusque là rien a dire. Ci joint la photo. Où sont les toasts ? Même pas une tomate en déco. Après transmissions de notre départ anticipé au patron, aucunes réactions de sa part. Ne semble pas étonné. Nous sommes partis sans manger en payant uniquement les boissons commandées...
