I fed my entree to the dog. That part of the experience was one of the best parts...and by that, I mean that the food was uneven to unacceptable, and the service was horribly rude. So, to begin. We had reservations for the outdoor section, which is supposed to be known for its view over the river. The river view is blocked quite a bit by heavy evergreens, but hey, we could see bits of the river here and there, so it was fine. But we arrived when a rainstorm had just begun. We were told that, while we were welcome to sit outside still, we could order food but "the food would not be served if the rain was too heavy." Um, what? Really? We had a native-born French couple with us, so this was not a matter of misunderstanding the words. It was actually what we were told, three times, because the French couple couldn't quite grasp why the food would not be sent out to the covered outdoor space. We decided to sit inside. The house wine I ordered was a sturdy red that would be lovely with the meal. However, only one variety of red, one white, and one type of beer was offered as individual portions. The rest of the offerings were all much larger. If you don't all want to drink the same thing, keep that in mind when booking here. Then things went really quickly downhill. One in our party is a vegetarian. Although there were no offerings without meat, it seemed like several could have been modified easily to provide a vegetarian meal that was more interesting than a handful of vegetables cooked in a pan. No matter what was requested, the owner again and again offered only vegetables sauteed in a pan. For nearly 20 Euro. No grain was offered even though it was on the menu for other dishes. No potatoes were offered even though they were paired with other dishes (not integrated into the dish, mind you, but set beside the main dish). Because she did not want to disrupt the meal for all of us, after a prolonged back-and-forth she finally gave in an ordered a fish dish. The moment she did, the owner said, "Oh, so you are not a vegetarian after all." WHAT?!?! Holy snot, this guy was arrogant. And rude. And since the vegetarian is French, this is not a case of someone being rude to a tourist. I can only assume that he will be rude to anyone who makes requests due to allergies, dietary restrictions based on health or religion, or simply asking how a dish is prepared. The first course is supposed to be escargot cooked with black rice and a mix of veggies. What the description did not indicate was that 1. the escargot were very small, and there were very few in the dish...sorry, that is not acceptable for 16.50 Euro...and 2. the offering is encased in a dough wrap that is fried...which I like to avoid. Now, that being said, it was an interesting choice. It amused me. But it was neither a value nor a good representation of the dish. My main dish was a pork cutlet, rather thick, that had been smoked and reheated in black garlic sauce. The first few bites from the edge that had fat and a heavy sauce were very pleasant. The flavors melded nicely with the pork. However, the majority of the cut was very tough. The sauce was actually rather sparing considering the thickness of the cut, so I can say that the smoked flavor that should have been there was not present at all. This dish was served with fried potato chunks and skillet cooked vegetables. The veggies were really overdone but edible. The potatoes were very well done. The meat was inedible, so I fed it to the dog. She was quite happy with the dish, and gives it 5 stars. Two of my companions ordered the lamb. They both found the meat tough and bland, prepared without spices or sauce. The veggie mix they received was the same as mine, with potatoes, so there is no creativity or special attention given to which sides are paired with which dish, at least for those meats. Considering how the evening went, my final comment is, Go if your dog is hungry. If you are hungry, you might want to...

PS:
Nous sommes venus la dernière fois le samedi 9/8/25 et mon numéro est écrit sur le registre de réservation. Il est donc inutile de rétorquer que je suis injoignable ( je n’ai juste aucun désir d’entretien) ou que « ma patronne» pourrait répondre à ma place, puisque j’exerce une profession libérale. Cet argument visant à me faire passer pour un paria serait nul et non avenu;
La dernière fois était de trop, d’où cet avis;
Read moreFood was alright, scenery even better but the service was terrible. Rude waiter, even the food for the kids was “not prioritized” since they didn’t order a kids menu. Wines were repeatedly not serviced, although, in the defense of the waiter, he was on his own. Asked for a tip in cash, as this was without VAT. This restaurant is NOT suitable for kids and does NOT offer ANY flexibility in the menu, inhospitable and unfriendly. TOURIST TRAP. If the owner, like with the other bad reviews, is defensive and even aggressive in his response to this review, this only confirms the terrible attitude towards customers. 1 star for the view, as I can’t choose...
