Indian Zaika — Restaurant in Nantes

Wow, I'm so glad this place has opened closer to La Vendeé for those of us who don't live too close to Nantes. Located in a quiet street with a kind owner, an accommodating manager and good food, what more can one ask for?!

Unfortunately, during my time there an angry French lady came in, who'd eaten a Formula de Midi the day before, and started yelling at the owner saying "you charged us too much, I want money back this is too expensive for food from your country". The poor owner lady even gave her some money back and she left.

Sad to see honest people get treated like this, I hope more sense will prevail, or customers who can't read a sign or who don't clarify will simply not return.

We went Indian Zaika for the dinner with friends and the food was amazingly tasty. I have tried other Indian restaurants in Nantes but there is no comparison in the taste. The service was outstanding in warm and cozy atmosphere with classical music in the background. The owner is really welcoming. We enjoyed both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dises. Sincèrement pas accueillant. La dame n’était pas compréhensif et le monsieur non plus. Le riz servis est aussi tellement peu comparé aux autres restaurant indiens à Nantes et alentours. Et mon est obligé de payer plus pour le riz alors que les autres restaurants offrent du riz en plus même si c’est un peu histoire de finir la sauce. Le plat de mon mari manquait de viande. Il a pris poulet tikka masala et c’était tellement remplis que de légumes et on a compté que 1 morceau de petit poulet. Mon plat à la viande daal est celui qu’on a plus mangé tout les deux car mon mari n’avait pas assez de sauce car il a été servis moins que moi alors que c’est le même prix. Ils nous ont ajouté du riz à la fin sans qu’on paie mais au début la dame était prête à nous laisser partir si la quantité de départ ne nous convenait pas.
