Le Saint Yves — Restaurant in Nice

We stopped here for a late lunch, on the outside terrace. At first sight the red plastic chairs don't leave an appealing impression. However, first impressions can be wrong. The view from the terrace (and restaurant) is magnificent (see pictures). And the food was superb. We chose the sandwiches which were great quality and super value for money: a sandwich is half of an XXL French bread with very generous toppings: it is a complete meal! Great coffee too. And as dessert, go for one of their pies: we opted for the lemon pie. Delicious! And very generous pieces too. Friendly staff, quick...

Niente di speciale!

Dopo la mattinata con la famiglia in visita al piccolo comune di Sant'Agnese decidiamo di pranzare presso il ristorante Le Saint-Yves, una volta entrati chiediamo se avessero dei posti liberi in sala e subito ci fanno accomodare gentilmente al tavolo.

Il ristorante è molto carino e anche l'arredamento, molto spazioso, dispone di posti interni ed esterni, servizio veloce e camerieri gentili.

Ordiniamo 3 piatti principali: Menu da (Euro 23.00) che include Pâté de Campagne, Tourte "maison", Raviolis en sauce, faux filet grillé avec frites e dessert au choix Chèvre chaud (Euro 10.50) Faux filet grillé avec frites (Euro 14.00)

Per dessert: Crème brûlée alla lavanda (Euro 4.00) 1 pallina di gelato (Euro 2.00)

I piatti nel complesso erano quasi tutti buoni e porzioni abbondanti (sin troppo). Tengo però a fare una nota negativa sulla carne, molto dura (nervosa), per esser un falso filetto uno dei più pregiati tagli di carne bovino adulto non risultava per niente tenero e gustoso. Inoltre abbiamo chiesto 2 cotture al sangue e una ben cotta, sono arrivate 2 troppo cotte e una media. Le patate fritte invece erano troppo condite che le abbiamo digerite per tutto il pomeriggio.

Altra nota negativa è sulla cucina; non aveva una buona aerazione, oltre ad aspirare i fumi di quest'ultima quando siamo usciti dal ristorante puzzavamo d'olio. I tavoli in sala troppo vicini che per andare al bagno si doveva chiedere a chi sedeva dietro di spostarsi, peccato.

Prezzi nella norma, grazie comunque del pranzo, ma la prossima volta opteremo per altro, un peccato, perchè gli altri piatti erano buoni, soprattutto...

The server was super rude! They didn't even ask if we wanted breakfast before roughly throwing it at our table. They used our table as a deposit for cutlery and other stuff to set up other tables, so we were constantly interrupted. When we asked to switch tables, they said no, even though the restaurant was empty! The food was awful and expensive. There are at least two other nice places with lower prices and nicer people.
