Hollywood Café — Restaurant in Nontron

Visited last year with my wife for her birthday and had a nice meal, had hoped to continue the annual tradition long in to the future but alas, no.

Facebook lists opening hours as 11am-1am, arrived at approx. 6pm but although the music was on, doors were locked. Returned home and tried to call the number on Google, doesn't work.

Sent a message to their Facebook page but wasn't picked up until approx. 18 hours later

Walked back at 855pm and although they said the kitchen closed at 9pm they wouldn't serve us. Had a great pizza & burger round the corner instead.

I'm glad to see they're busy enough to turn away weekday custom, but we won't be frequenting again. Would've given one star but the visit last year was good, perhaps...

Popped in for lunch . What can I say it, was excellent. Took a while to choose what to have but eventually went for the fillet steak special, this came with a tasty lardon and walnut salad as an appetiser and then the fillet steak arrived, served with a house special sauce and skinny chips cooked in beef fat. We asked for the steak to be blue and it was, the secret sauce was delicious with hints of lemon and thyme. If you've never had chips cooked in beef fat then this alone is a good reason to visit. The meal and service were superb and also very reasonably priced. Looking forward to trying the burgers next time as the table near us had them and they also...

Pas possible de recommander ni les plats ni la proprietaire! J y suis alle pour essayer pour une groupe de mes amis pour une soiree mais je pourrais pas choisir ce resto bizarre Tres bon endroit, tres jolie terrasse en plein centre de Nontron, mais l alimentation, tres, tres pauvre! La salade 'little Italy' etait une assiette pleine que de lettue et avec qlqs sortes de tres petits croutons, tomates seches et 3 trop petits tranches de jambon sautpoudres au dessus de cet montagne de l herbe! Pour €13 pas un bon offre J ai donc demande un petit plus de jambon et ils ont insiste de me facturer...pitie! Quand j ai dita la proprietaire que j etais tellement decue, sa reponse etait etonnant... 'Mais Madame, vous etes la premiere de se plaindre...et elle est partie?! Elle n a rien fait pour rassurer une nouvelle cliente ni rien offerte pour soulager la grosse deception... Les autres plats etaient aussi decevantes... Pas possible de recommander...pauvre en qualite, tres pauvre en service!

Sorry but cant recommend Quality of food poor, quality of service, worse Little italy salad is nothing more than a mountain of soggy lettuce, 3 tiny slices of serrano ham and some dried tomatoes

Owner was offended and rude when i explained my disappointment Insisted that because noone else had ever said anything i must be wrong.. Pity, as i had tried this place out with a view to bringing 4 friends back for an evening meal 2 days later, so we would have spent at least €200 there, but no, for the sake of €2 worth of ham , the owner has lost our good custom and that of our friends..we live in Nontron too so its a huge disappointment... Nice location and pleasant terrace area, but not a good restaurant in my experience and the owner needs a course in...
