As a roadside café, the Tommy in Pozières is a perfectly fine place to stop for lunch or simply a beer or a coffee. It's not too pricey, not too fancy, the staff and owner were friendly and the food is good. But it is much more than a simple café. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, with a baby and a toddler and were offered a table in the rear room which had more space available for a pram. Between each table are artifacts and relics of the Great War, which the owner has been collecting for years. There you are sat down eating your omelete and chips whilst surrounded by a vast amount of arms and equipment left over from the horror that befell Pozières and much of northern France more than a hundred years ago. If that isn't enough, the back garden contains an incredible reproduction of both German and British trenches. There is a small fee to visit the trenches, but it is well worth the entrance fee. The Tommy is a remarkable place. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and worthy of a diversion if you're within a couple of hours drive.

My family and I visited today for lunch. Although we spoke limited French and the wait staff could speak minimal English we were able to communicate our order and were serviced quickly and efficiently. The hospitality could have been a little bit better, possibly the language barrier. We ordered two of the omelette and chips and two of the sausage and chips. Both dishes also had a side salad. Food was cooked fresh in the kitchen, generous portions and were homely in nature. The set up is quite unique as although we did not pay the 7 euro (which I think is a little high for paying dining customers) to visit the museum the dining area and entrance to the bathrooms are lined with historical war memorabilia so we still had a taste of the display on offer. I would recommend a visit if looking for a good meal at a reasonable price.

We were on a private guided tour of the WW1 battlefields of the Somme, from Arras, to everywhere around Villers-Bretonneux and being from Australia our guide took us to Le Tommy for lunch. What a fascinating place to visit. Given it's actually a cafe/restaurant it's packed full of great memorabilia. We'd been to Bullecourt earlier & had been "lucky" enough to find bullets & some shrapnel but in Le Tommy you could buy some if you wanted to. Our food was prompt & plentiful, we only ordered a basic meal & coke, so as it was cooked perfect, I gave it ☆☆☆☆☆. It's truly a unique place & well worth a visit.

We cannot rate it less than 1 start because the system doesn't allow it. The staff was very unpolite, the first time we went to the restaurant they told us it was closed because they had no staff and that we had to make a reservation so we had to go eat to a different place. The second time we had a call with them a made a reservation on a specific time, and when we showed up on the agreed time, we discovered that the restaurant was closed, even thought they told us to be there at 13.00. There was no letter or any message from them to indicate a reason of why it was closed, as a matter of fact there was not even a sign stating that the restaurant was closed, we called them several times but they never picked up their phone. Very unpolite and disrespectful to make us reserve the lunch with them to then only not show up. is this the way to treat your customers??? the only reason we wanted to eat in this restaurant located in the middle of nowhere was because of the museum but apart of that the food photos do not show...
