Arrived for a late lunch without reservation, and where shown to a table, given drinks menus by an uncaring waitress, and then waited 25min just to get a food menu (they apparently didn’t have enough!). After another 15min we then were told by a different waiter that because we didn’t have a reservation we couldn’t have the table... and that it was our fault for misunderstanding when we were shown in! As we were leaving, we heard another table asking when they’d be able to order (they’d arrived well before us). Chanced to be here at lunch on an extended walk. The plat du jour was duck, cooked perfectly with a raspberry sauce, along with a bundle of green beans in spec, and roast potatoes. The owner was waiting tables and was charming, efficient and friendly. He spoke English to allay our dreadful French and did so with a smile.
