Finnegans — Restaurant in Quimper

My husband and I visited the bar last night to have supper, Upon arrival we liked the place and the decor. Our experience was disappointing. First, my husband’s eyes started to burn and he asked if someone was smoking? our waitress replied no. But later I observed the customer next to us vaping away thick clouds of smoke. I was astonished bc there was an outside terrace and the weather was fine. In 2025 it’s shocking to be told that smoking is allowed inside an establishment? Then I started to sneeze from inhaling the smoke. My husband spoke to the waitress and told her he was vaping and she said it was allowed? oh my goodness I was shocked and disappointed. She did not appear concerned about our discomfort . We ordered fish and chips. The fish batter was ok nice and crispy but had absolutely no taste at all, it was bland, there was no seasonings at all on that fish, the tartar sauce was tasteless, not sure what that was? Why would someone serve something so awful?? if you want to make home tartar sauce do it properly or serve ready make. The fries were delicious, the best thing on the plate. Salad looked good but I don’t like arugula in my salad so I didn’t have it which was ok, my husband enjoyed his and had mine also. I ordered a cocktail Baby Breeze; which was awful? It had more lime taste than anything else and no flavour. What a waste of money? No effort was made to put proper ingredients into it to making a delicious flavour. There was not a hint of pineapple ?? Not sure what was added but it tasted like plain lemonade served with foam, I didn’t take dessert bc I didn’t want to end up with some imitation less than below the expected taste and standard. They had no ice cream to make the dessert my husband wanted which was ok. Would not visit this place again, first of all professional chefs or homemade chefs should know if you know to season your meat or fish with salt or pepper or the required aromatic; if not you end up with bland tasting food, Secondly, waiters/waitresses should be trained in making cocktails , use the right ingredients and serve drinks that are palatable. You cannot put together anything in a glass and serve it. I don’t go to restaurants to admire the decor. I go there to have a decent meal that I can enjoy, This is not acceptable at all. That we didn’t get on our visit. For those reasons I would not recommend or return. The hype of a place or ambiance should match up to the food. That is plain and simple. Food: 1/5 | Service: 2/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

We visited this bar last night during our trip from Germany and had such an amazing time! 🍻 We came with friends just looking for a fun night out, and this place totally delivered. The atmosphere was great, the music was on point, and the drinks… wow🤩

We had some beers, delicious cocktails, and way too many shots — all perfectly made. Special shoutout to the bartender (wish I could remember her name) she was super friendly, quick, and made our night unforgettable! ❤️‍🔥

...il était une fois dans une petite rue de Quimper, se cachait un petit bar...le Finnegans ! L'air de rien avec une enseigne bien sympa on se dit : "allez ok on rentre, on verra bien !" et là direct un superbe comptoir où l'on prendrait bien une bière, et puis on remarque THE AMBIANCE ! la classe quoi...! hé oui, comme si on était arrivé direct en Irlande. Sérieusement le décor est parfait. L'accueil nickel, entremêlé d'humour, de serviabilité, de gentillesse, de rapidité....parfait. Aussi ils font de la restauration. Nous avons pris des burgers frites. Petite carte mais au moins ils savent ce qu'ils font. Le pain du burger une tuerie, le fromage pareil, le steack parfaitement cuit. Un des meilleurs hamburgers que j'ai pu manger (à part les miens lol). Frites et salade super. Grand choix de bières pour les amateurs. Le petit café pour terminer dans un fauteuil, il n'en fallait pas plus pour bien finir la soirée. L'ambiance lumineuse est bien gérée. Pas trop éblouissante, pas agressive. Pour la musique....tout ce que j'aime. On se sent tout de suite à l'aise dans ce pub avec un patron et un personnel au top. Pour info : je n'ai ni rétribution pour l'avis ni d'actions chez eux lol 😂😂😂 Conseil : allez y les yeux fermés si vous voulez passer une bonne soirée. PS : Pour ma part, hâte d'y...
