Le Glacier — Restaurant in Riom

From outside on a wet cold day you could be forgiven for thinking this is just a locals only Bar/Tabac but how wrong you would be, We Were.. we entered with anticipation expecting any noise to stop and the big Stare look Non Locals but we were welcomed from across the bar and directed to some seats, were were asked in French what we would like in our non perfect French we ordered Two coffees to which we were greeted with a smile and in broken Englishe were asked if we were passing through or Holidaying in the area. My wife and I looked at each other and replied in French that we had just bought a small place locally this was in turn shouted across the bar and a small cheer went up and some patting on our back went on, we never did pay for the two Coffees and look forward to...

Pour contre-balancer l'éventuel commentaire des 2 dames aigries qui se sont plaintes de leur faux-filet trop dur (cuisson bien cuit pour une belle piece de viande tel que ce faux-filet qui ressemblait plus à du filet...) et qui ont réussi leur coup (elles ont tout mangé mais rien payé) je me permets ce com. Très belle et bonne viande, cuisson tel que demandée (bleu) service rapide et agréable. Mais le patron fût impacté par ces 2 énergumènes alors que ça n'en vallait pas la peine... Dutout! Puisqu'elles n'étaient apparemment pas bien lunées dès leur arrivée. En tout cas, merci pour ce bon moment. N'étant que de passage, je vous souhaite une bonne continuation, et si je venais à revenir dans le coin, je sais où manger une...

If you are in the area walknright on in or sit outside if the weather is nice. Very friendly staff and great food on offer. Coffee is brilliant better than any we have had in the UK. We cannot recommend the Bar/Coffee/Restaurant...
