Brasserie les Variétés — Restaurant in Saint-Claude

Needed some food while travelling through the Jura and sat down at this brasserie/bar. There was some confusion with the girl who greeted us as she was reluctant to take food orders for some reason. Anyway, we were swiftly served by another charming girl and all was well.

Had the veal wrapped in ham an cheese with local sauce, fries and salad. A great bar dish. Salty and filling and just what I needed at that time. Simple food done right. I was really impressed by the vinaigrette on the salad. It tasted of mustard and white wine vinegar and it felt perfect being in Jura. Fries were puffy and crunchy.

All in all a really good pub meal. A bit on the pricey side which you would expect from the region.

This dish was one of four dishes listed on a sign on the table. They also have an extensive menu which holds far to many options. I would ditch this menu and focus on the things...

Beautiful food and wonderfull staff working here. The best French food in the area! Not a very wide variety of food but the food they offer is great! I had the fish with a white wine sauce and my daughter had their burger and we will be back for more! My daughter left her phone and the manager helped us get it...

Si vous avez rien prévu de faire dans votre journée vous pouvez y aller sinon passez votre chemin... 1h d'attente pour un plat du jour alors que la moitié des tables étaient vides. Quand on a demandé à la serveuse si le plat allait finir par arriver car l'heure de retourner au travail approchait elles nous a répondu quil fallait réserver ( nous étions 2 ). Une fois le tant attendu plat du jours arrivé le lapin était dur comme du chien. Bref il va falloir trouver un autre endroit pour manger cette semaine car en déplacement...
