Al Dente — Restaurant in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne

Would not recommend, first time we left the food on the table and left. When we walked in and the first thing we saw was the dog of the owner walking in the kitchen. We sat down and ordered the 3 cheese fondue with 2 glasses of wine. After ordering a men came to the table asking if we wanted to see a free magic trick. Apparently he works for the restaurant, he did leave when we said no but we tought it was very out of place (maybe fun if you have kids I guess). The wine was lovely but the fondue was really bad, we got served pieces of bread what looked like crumbs (way to small) and they were really stale and old. The cheese was fine but not very rich of taste, tasted a lot like it was thickend with flower or something. The last thing we got served was a little salad, this was also not really good the lettuce was a bit on the old side. We ate a bit of the fondue and left. The food was horrible for the price. I highly recommend this restaurant when staying in Aussois. We had dinner here as well as ordered take away pizza a couple of times during our stay. On all occasions I received very friendly and genuine service, and delicious foods! Everything fresh, home made and mostly made with regional products. Le lieu est vraiment magnifique, le cadre agréable, les plats copieux. Mais ça s'arrêtera là. Hormis une serveuse (un ange tombé du ciel pour ce restaurant) tout le reste n'a été que désastre. Un temps d'attente incroyable alors qu'il y avait très peu de table ce soir là et tout cela a cause d'une personne : là patronne, hautaine et Désagréable. Là serveuse à beau faire ce qu'elle peut, mais elle ne peut pas supporter le poids du restaurant sur ses épaules. Aucune aide de la part de la patronne qui reste derrière le bar uniquement à encaisser les quelques clients, c'est la serveuse elle même qui doit ranger les verres du bar car la patronne est trop occuper à boire un coup. Lorsque l'on fait la réflexion qu'on part car le temps d'attente est trop long : la patronne est hautaine, Désagréable et se moque littéralement de nous à voix haute. A fuir rien que pour cela.
