We happened upon it by chance while returning from Caen towards MT Saint Michel, outside the pub we saw the fork and knife. There were 4 of us (me, Italian), 2 Guernsey and an Australian, we ate divinely. If you are passing through and are hungry, stop because the portions are abundant. I recommend

Une belle découverte ! De passage dans le village avec ma compagne, nous cherchions un bon restaurant pour notre séjour… et nous avons eu la chance de tomber sur cette adresse. Comme indiqué dans d’autres avis, le patron gère tout seul la cuisine et le service en salle ce qui force le respect ! Malgré cela, tout est bien rythmé et agréable. La carte propose principalement des viandes, accompagnées de très bonnes frites maison et d’une salade fraîche. Nous nous sommes vraiment régalés ! La déco est un peu vieillotte, certes, mais cela n’enlève rien à la qualité des plats ni à l’accueil. Comme quoi, il ne faut pas se fier aux apparences. Merci pour ce bon moment, nous recommandons sans hésiter !

The other restaurants in town were busy, after 8 weeks of travelling in France this was the best meal experience we have had. Highly recommended if you like good face to face service with the barman, chef and waiter, (the same guy) the food was simple but spectacular. Disappointing we move on tomorrow or we would have been back again, great food, great service...

Stopped for a lunch on the way to the Caen ferry, found this place. Pub character and a tiny kitchen with one man cooking great looking steaks and other grill food. We had the Saucisse Frites - an excellent sausage, served with some salad and freshly made fries washed down with a draft beer. Busy little place, I would definitely go...
