Bistrot Josephine — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

We had an amazing evening at "Bistrot Josephine" during our holiday to Brittany last summer. On a friday, we had made an online reservation for 2, in the online form there is the option to note any of your food allergies, which was much appreciated! The staff kept track of my allergies and removed them from the courses without me notifying them about it, never seen this kind of care and service!

The ambiance is excellent (stylish but not too posh, roomy yet cosy enough), the hospitality is really top notch, good wine selection, also the accessibility is great, ample of private parking space. The menu is on the smaller side and consists of authentic French cuisine (4/5 different starters, main courses and desserts), which isn't a problem at all due to the variety of choices and the high quality servings. Our recommendation would definitely be the Terrine as a starter!

One personal note, for me as someone with peanut- and nut food allergies there was no option for a dessert which was non-sweet/ over the top sugarly. But that is just a small personal thing.

We would definitely recommend Bistrot Josephine to anyone in the Cancale/Saint-Malo area.

Une expérience culinaire remarquable à deux pas de la mer.

Nous avons eu le plaisir de découvrir ce restaurant, et nous en sommes absolument conquis. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été charmés par l’atmosphère accueillante et soignée. Le patron est aux petits soins, toujours avec le sourire, et sait parfaitement conseiller pour sublimer l’expérience avec passion. C’est avec plaisir que nous avons pu échanger quelques mots. Merci.

Côté cuisine, ce fut un véritable régal pour nos papilles. Les produits sont frais, sublimés par une préparation soignée et des saveurs équilibrées. Chaque plat révèle un savoir-faire semi-gastronomique indéniable, avec une belle attention portée aux détails, tant dans la présentation que dans l’harmonie des goûts. La carte change tous les 1 mois ½.

Le cadre est également un atout majeur : idéalement situé à quelques pas de la mer, il offre une ambiance agréable et paisible, parfaite pour un repas en amoureux, entre amis ou en famille.

Ce restaurant est sans aucun doute une adresse à retenir pour les amateurs de bonne cuisine et de moments conviviaux. Une belle découverte que nous recommandons vivement à tous ceux qui cherchent une table de qualité !

We visited Bistro Josephine on a recommendation from the owners friend when we were in Rennes.

A lovely restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is very very good with attention to detail, and as fresh and as well cooked as I’ve had in a long time. I would is certainly recommend this to anybody who is visiting this area.
