Very nice place, very nice atmosphere. The staff is professional while being very friendly. Good selection of wine (please add bio dynamic ones to the menu).

Food: excellent for a bistrot, the spices from Mr Roellinger being a key ingredient to the success of the dishes (the selection is narrowed to just 5 or 6 main but this is how it should be with a focus on seafood but a selection of meat as well). Deserts were equally nice. Definitely some talent in the kitchen, though an effort could be made on the side dishes that are a bit plain.

Staff: very pro and friendly at the same time. You can see the affiliation with some upper restaurants owned and managed by the Roellinger family.

Location / Design: very nice design, good lighting. The view on the sea is very very nice. The open kitchen is definitely a plus. You can admire how well the team operates.

It's a bit pricy but the experience is definitely worth it! Hope these qualities will remain over time and that the food experience can only increase from here from the small feedback...

We were very disappointed in our meal, given the good reviews and its association with Château Richeux, where we are staying. It's quite a nice setting in a cove/marina. The service was only okay, slow given the restaurant was only half full. After a wait of 20 minutes, we had to flag down a server to remind her about the profiterole my husband ordered. (To be fair, she responded promptly.) The shellfish bisque was good, and the squid entree fine. My husband had the ris de veau, which he said was fine, not great. I had the lamb chops which were over spiced and undistinctive. The meal cost 200+ euros. We...

The bread and butter to start your meal put you in the perfect condition to start your dinner. They have some wine and pet Nat by the Glass witch really enjoyable to have with your appetizer and amazing "huitres plates". The main are all coming with iron cast super hot and shinny and the garnish of your choice on the side. I had the ris de veau with gnocchi. All of it was perfectly cooked and seasoning. We skip the dessert for this time. The only minus point was our table was so close to the kitchen, where you could just hear noise . Appart of that we had...

We stopped by Le Bistrot de Cancale for lunch during our visit to Brittany, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere is cozy with beautiful views that capture the spirit of the region. But the real star of the afternoon? The sole. Without exaggeration, it was the best I’ve ever had — delicately cooked, perfectly seasoned. If you find yourself in Cancale, do not miss this gem. It’s a place where tradition meets excellence — and where you’ll leave dreaming about the food long after the meal is over. ♥️

Turbo fish… if you go, just go and get the turbo. I’ve eaten fish at a lot of places and this had to have been up there with Le Bernardin “the fish not the overall experience, specifically the turbo”. Crab soap was good, lobster was good, soufflés was meh flavor wise. Technically looked great with a perfect consistency. But flavor was lacking. Go for the turbo and the lobster. Or skip the lobster and get double turbo. You’ll thank me later.
