This is truly one of our favorite spots on St. Maarten. Of course, your favorite places are completely subjective but for us this is it. This place is commonly known as Friars Bay Beach bar. Friars Bay Beach certainly is beautiful and not crowded with tons of people even during the height of the season because most people don't know about it unless you are here all the time. There are two beach bars on this beach and the one I speak of is the Friars Bay Beach bar. Yes it is French influenced, and its menu speaks to that culture. However you can get a cheeseburger there and good fries but it also has some awesome dishes if you like French food and they are exceptional. They play good old rock and roll in the background which is really comforting and the staff is attentive and kind. Not to mention that this bar is right off the water just a hundred feet away if not closer. Definitely will be returning as we come here many times throughout the week that we are here. The beach is awesome and if you want to go to a clothing optional beach it is nearby just a walk away. If you are in St Martin, Friars Bay is a must as well as the beach bars that are located on this beach. As to what I can speak of food wise, my wife and I had the beef carpaccio and the tuna carpaccio as well as the chicken spring rolls. Depending on your taste they are all awesome. Just as an FYI this is a cash-only place so make sure you have cash when you are there. Also it is not inexpensive so make sure you bring enough AKA over a hundred bucks at...

We went here after renting a car to see the island on a cruise port day. Parking was free and if you drive, the parking lot was pretty rough. However, i had seen online that the road WAS rough but while we were there, there was heavy road equipment there smoothing the road.

The portions here are enormous but they were just as delicious. I had the Croque Madame and it was out of this world favorable and very well done. My wife and daughter split the club and still rave about that sandwich to this day.

Our waiter was on his first day on the job and so nice. The day we were there, the waves were a little too rough to get in but we were happy to relax at our table and take in the scenery. ...

CASH ONLY. Probably one of the best values on the island as far as beach chairs go. $10 if you eat at the restaurant. For a beach restaurant, the food is phenomenal. We had steak kebabs in pepper sauce and the calamari steak. It was a great surprise to have very delicious food here for lunch. You can sit in the restaurant or on the beach in mini cabana style tables. You do basically sit on the ground. Highly recommend if you are going to Friar's have been to the island three consecutive years and wish we would have stopped here sooner. We typically stop at Kali's, but due to higher waters we walked down here. Highly recommend these chairs...
