Pornichet Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Saint-Nazaire

I've visited this fish & chip shop many times over the last ten years. Visited there on Friday 29th May. I'm aware of the COVID restrictions at the moment so we asked to eat outside on their terrace....we were told it was booked! There was plenty of space, only one couple with a child before us. Fish & Chips in the real world comes with salt & vinegar....we were told that they had no vinegar due to Brexit!!!! Go 2km down the road & you can buy Sarson's malt vinegar in the Geant, Intermarché etc...poor excuse.

The chips were so small, they were hard to eat ( no wooden fork provided like they used to do) also, the fish in batter was very greasy...it used to be perfect.

We visit Pornichet several times a year(two hours from our house), we will not be returning to this fish &...

Petit snack à côté du marché. Minuscule terrasse, mais tant pis...Leur fisch ans chips est excellent, croustillant à souhait et un filet de poisson moelleux et frais. Cuisson parfaite. Les frites sont fraîches et non surgelées. Le service est très agréable et souriant. Si il faut trouver un petit truc, c'est peut-être le manque d'assaisonnement du poisson ( manquait de sel...). Les portions sont généreuses, la portion moyenne de frites est très suffisante et servie avec 2 beaux filets de poisson. Le dessert cheese cake maison sans cuisson, est bon et bien servi également, un peu cher peut-être (5,50€). Total pour 2 fischs &chips ( moyenne portion), une glace Magnum, un cheese-cake framboise, une bouteille de sauvignon, un café : 46€. Correct. Je n'ai pas encore goûté à leur hamburger, mais ceux que j'ai vu chez mes voisins me paraissaient très appétissants et là encore très généreux, leurs salades également. Je vous dirais ça la prochaine fois. Ouvert toute l'année. Bon point en +, couverts en bois. M'ayant été recommandé par des collègues de boulot il y a au moins 2 ans, je n'avais pas pris le temps d'y venir. C'est chose faite...Et elles...

A good place to grab a quick lunch bite in Pornichet if you do not want to wait for ages. We went for a safe option of bagels with salmon and ham as well as fish and chips. The latter were really good. The bagels were not that regular chewy ones but rather bagel-shaped soft bread dough. Good but not ‘bagelish’.
