Il Giardino — Restaurant in Sarrebourg-Château-Salins

Ten days ago upon arrival to Les Trois Forêts our group of six had lunch here, which turned up to be a terrible decision as two of us got severe food poisoning.

We arrived to the resort on Friday afternoon after a long drive and this was supposed to be our first meal that day. Me and my wife ordered the same type of pizza (pizza Gina with burrata and truffles) - luckily our kid and the rest of our group ordered other things. 2-3 hours later we started feeling the first symptoms, nausea, stomach aches, following with vomiting and diarrhea throughout the whole night and next morning. We spent the whole next day lying in bed, feeling sick and completely exhausted. There goes our nice relaxing weekend in the woods through the window. Luckily, our kid and the rest of our group remained in good health.

These things can happen in any restaurant business, people do mistakes, however what is completely unacceptable is the reaction that followed of both Les Trois Forêts resort and the restaurant management itself. When we regained a bit of strength we immediately complained to the resort management and explained what happened. They immediately, without too many questions, blamed it on us with a defense that they haven't had a case of food poisoning in X years. With that logic I guess they expect they will never ever have a case of one. If it didn't happen for long enough, it won't happen again - a splendid logic and strategy to handle situations like these. Anyhow, no apology for the ruined vacation, no questions if we need any help or assistance, not to mention any refund of the money that we spent to get poisoned. There was also a potential problem that we won't recover by the time we need to leave (it was a short vacation over a long weekend), and we had a long drive in front of us. But who cares I guess.

Long story short, I would advise everyone to think twice before eating here. This restaurant is part of a bigger open area (no separating walls) which is decorated as a sort of tropical jungle. It is really warm and humid, far from ideal surroundings for a restaurant. I assume they are not taking really good care of ingredients that are left outside of cooling areas. I suspect that in our case it was burrata that almost "killed" us, as it was added to pizza as fresh ingredient (no baking).

What a disappointment with the new Menu. It used to be great before but a few months ago, they changed the menu, and it's absolutely terrible now. No fish option and the little vegetarian option available is aweful and tasted equally bad. Honestly the personne responsable for this new change wasn't really thinking straight or he has terrible taste of food. We went there on our first night at centerparc and the next day I had to go shopping to cook for the rest 7 nights that we stayed here.

16-09-2020 The male servants did a great job. However, the food and the female servers were very disappointing. Especially a servant wearing her sunglasses inside ... The woman gave us the wrong bill, which could happen. But she was very disrespectful and made a total scene of our complaints. She also started talking about us with her colleagues in our presence. The angry look in her eyes wasn't the right way to take care of your customers. I would highly recommend firing some of the servers and replacing them with more experienced...
