Restaurant La Paillote - Hôtel Marinca & SPA — Restaurant in Sartène

We ate at La Paillote a couple of times whilst at the hotel. We would have eaten a lot more if it wasn't for the poor service.

On the two times we ate we were asked for water when we sat down, on neither occasion did it arrive without regular prompting. The wine/beer was often left on the side whilst the staff were chatting away to each other or looking at their phones.

The burger was good, to be fair, but the octopus was slightly overcooked and had way too much sauce. As did the white fish, which was well cooked but the sauce drowned out the flavour a little. The fact that they play music there did not annoy me, but it was a shame that it drowned out the sound of the sea given the location.

The pool bar staff were friendly and helpful (particularly Florent) but the actual staff working in the restaurant were significantly below that of the other staff in the hotel.

I would recommend taking the ferry with Ethan to Propriano and having a better meal and experience. Probably for a similar...

we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with, among other things, an extensive lunch in the restaurant at hotel Marinca. We were 14 people and had made a reservation through the helpful landlord of the holiday villa where we stayed ('Les Jardins de Pratavone'). In short: it was excellent! Pretty disappointing. We were excited to come here and the backdrop does not disappoint. Right by the beach with a great view. But the food is very average (if not below) and very overpriced. Limited menu at 8.45pm … 40£ for mains that were very very average. Overall felt like an overpriced tourist trap!
