Auberge Du Mont Rond — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

My room was pretty basic with two single bed's pushed together and, unfortunately, two single duvets. Shower was good and plentiful hot water.French only TV. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice (cereals, ham, cheeses, hot croissants etc) including boiling your own eggs. Staff were excellent and very chatty and the few locals that drank at the bar were always keen to help or advise. They have a 'bootroom' downstairs to store hired skis and boots/poles overnight, unfortunately the boot warmers were not working when we were there. They kindly allowed us to overrun our last day until 5 pm, for one room, so that we could shower prior to going to the airport and they bought us all a farewell drink upon final departure. The restaurant in this hotel is very good for the evening meal , especially for the entrecotes. Combine this with a few drinks at the Marmot d'Or and you will have a good evening. My only real complaint was that the Hotel WiFi only worked with windows or apple devices, not android devices for some reason , and this was well known by the staff. Still , 3 days without email was actually refreshing.||||If you are on a tight budget and want value for money and you are not going to hang around your room each evening then this is a very affordable place, friendly staff, with plenty to do. We stayed in the rooms for two nights. It was clean and has amazing views to the mountains. The room features a fridge and they have a shared modern dining area and kitchen which is open all day. The only bad thing is that our shower didn't have a holder so we had to hold it with our hands while having the shower. Apart from that, I'd say for the price and cleanliness, the views and very comfortable beds, it's perfect. montriond is very near from Morzine, there is a free shuttle and 2 km walking distance which is lovely to do during the day taking the coast path along the river.
