Le Rocher — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

We visited here as we were passing, thinking it would be a local pizza place, maybe a little 'find'

Well we found one very quiet restaurant (no one there at lunchtime) and an incredibly rude lady who treated us like an inconvenience when we asked for a table.

We opened the menu, saw the prices and checked a few of these reviews and left. What did it for us was the 8 euro charge if anyone wasnt eating their own plate. We had one young lady with us who had been poorly with us and wasn't going to eat. No way was I paying for her to sit with us.

From what I read we had a lucky escape. As we left we got a sarcastic goodbye shouted across the square.

Very poor experience. We went here for lunch at 12.30. Restaurant was empty and we were seated right next to the door as they were apparently 'fully booked'. Lovely setting but watch out for the upsell. Pizza delicious but expensive, drinks very pricey. Almost 100 euros for pizza & a drink for 2 adults, 2 kids. BIZARRE - We were not allowed to share 3 pizzas amongst 4 and had to order an extra one. Kerching another 20 euros! Such a shame as we won't now visit again or recommend to our many friends...
